Sometimes the little hole in the wall restaurants that only locals know are the best. My mom went to school around the corner so we eat here allot when i was younger. As i got older i realized how good their food really is, every Chinese restaurant i went to i compared to Chinese Kitchen and nobody came close. Ok first off the parking sucks, and street traffic are full of A55holes but once your in its good. Don't let the front lobby full of people scare you away, they are all for take out, trust me walk past them and get a table. You will get your food way faster from very nice ladies. I always get the fried wongtons i love how they add shrimp for that great little treat when you bite in. As for food OMG their eggrolls are the best, i have never heard a bad thing unless its about wanting more lol. They are full of flavor, moist, and handmade. My mom has gone here and ordered a dozen just to bring home. I bet their most popular dish is the Mandarin Chicken, and damn is it awesome, they only make it with dark meat so its super tender and loads of flavor, their sauce is really good, i get it to the side so i can dip to keep my chicken super crispy till the end. Their fried rice is great also, not greasy but packed full of flavor. You could eat the fried rice as a meal and leave very happy. Another local favorite is the Shrimp Lo Mein, the sauce is great but not to heavy their noodles are cooked perfectly and you get a ton of local jumbo shrimp that taste amazing. They have many other great dishes but when i go i can't stop craving those dishes, but i will try others...
Read moreIf I could rate the service a negative number, I would!! I am highly aggravated with the service that I received at Chinese Kitchen today. I have never been so poorly treated at a restaurant in all my adult life as I had been treated today. I only ordered a small Shrimp Fried Rice. Simple order, you would think so, right? After ordering I went into the waiting area for my order and it was practically empty, maybe a couple of people. As I was waiting, the room quickly became crowded. I had order #235, they started calling order numbers before mine and after mine. I inquired to the female calling the numbers and handing out the food. She didn't say anything, all she did was pointed at the number on the wall that shows what number was being served. She called that number several times. And also called number 237, 240 etc....and other numbers and these orders were more complicated orders and some orders included shrimp fried rice. The man directly behind me ordered shrimp fried rice and I think an egg roll. He was sitting down eating his food while I was still waiting and I kept on, kept on asking why are you skipping over my number? I was never ever given an explanation. I was asked what number that I have but still no explanation was given as to why I was still waiting. So the next step is for me to speak to the manager which I was told that he wasn't there. So I will be going back, to personally complain about my treatment. I expect an explanation and compensation for my miserable...
Read moreI've been going to Chinese Kitchen since I was very young and I've always done takeout because we've never trusted our car being safe in that tiny parking lot. Recently, me and my boyfriend went there and dined in for the first time.We chose our own seats and our food arrived pretty quickly which was great. The food I ordered needed to be eaten with a spoon and our waitress ignored us and I waited for about five minutes to get the spoon when the woman was standing in the area with all the utensils anyways. Finally, I get the spoon and immediately dig in only to realize that my spoon was filthy and I saw the lady look down at them before giving them to us. I was extremely disgusted and when we asked for more spoons she brought back plastic ones and then explained that all of the spoons were like that because they were old but they were in fact "clean". After eating our food, I didn't trust them with my credit card so I opted for cash instead. Though, I only had a few dollars for change the waitress immediately took the money, said "thank you, goodnight" and disappeared into the back without bringing my change back or giving me the choice of giving her a tip. Needless to say, I will never be dining in Chinese Kitchen again. However, their food was amazingly delicious as always so I'm sure I will be sticking with take out...
