Our final dinner in NOLA, after a five day conference and we wanted food from a menu that was not entirely cajun/creole... so here we went! It was located across from the Jazz Museum and they were doing an outdoor concert so this little gem was pretty busy at 5PM.

It was smallish, but had plenty of outdoor seating (too humid for these two tourists) but we sat inside. Our server was good, nice and attentive. They have a full bar, so I ordered a sparkling water, my colleague a Mule. We decided to share items so ordered a full order of their garlic bread, split a fresh Caesar and split a Margarita Pizza. The Caesar and Pizza landed at our table, but she had apparently forgotten to put in our order of garlic bread, so we got that mid-pizza. Thankfully she only brought us a half order (we had ordered a full) so we did not go into carb meltdown. EVERYTHING was very good. The salad was freshly made, with dressing on point. The Garlic Bread was divine, not overly buttered and garlic doused. The Pizza was super tasty, the crust perfect. We went for dessert after our server told us everything was house made - Creme Brulee - and it was wonderful. The meal was super reasonable and it was nice to be able to make a reservation at a place that was very casual but the food...

Our first time in NOLA, these Hoosier tourists have been impressed with the friendliness of the restaurants we have visited. This location - South Carrollton Avenue - did not disappoint. Greeted at the door and seated right away in the delightful dining room, we noticed almost immediately all the art that was for sale on the walls. New to this concept, we thought the place had outstanding decor - it does - but nearly all of it is for sale from local artists.

We also experienced something quite novel - pun intended - with the entrance lined with bookshelves full of used books for sale from a local library. A fun addition, we walked away with two Clive Cussler novels - we are hopeless addicts to the adventure genre.

Now - about the pizza: stone-fired, tasty, and delivered to the table quickly. The ingredients were fresh, the sauce was great - just enough zang to make it fun - and the portions spot on. Our family of four ate two pizzas with one whole piece (LOL) left over for a midnight snack back at the hotel.

The staff were friendly, engaging, and knowledgeable about both the restaurant and the local scene. They answered our questions and made us feel at home.

All in all, we...

The Food & Service was examplytory & Fast Tracked. Our waiter TRAVIS was accommodating & efficient upon seating. Any request was NOT a Problem. Refills of Tea was endless, table cleared constantly as foods were completed. A birthday cake was brought in by us a d Travis many saucers for us to share The cake w/ anyone in resturant- he had no issues with our request for extra forks, napkins, & even Go containers, He was Excellent and well mannered to everyone. He should be recognized by The management for his on Task and efforts to make customers Enjoy The full dinning experience at LPK. The Food was Delicious and served at correct temperature HOT. The Spinach LASAGNA was so flavorful ,my compliments to the Chef & Kitchen, as it was crowded, but the food kept coming out to appease the customers. The appetizers: Round eggplant slices w/ marinara sauce was Awesome and the mini pasta shells stuffed w/ mushrooms with horseradish dipping sauce was Great. The Restroom was clean & had HOT Water. The entire dinning experience was a DELIGHT, we stayed for 2hrs,as i hated for it to END . You cant go wrong dinning at this establishment. We plan on returning again & AGAIN!!...

Dropped in for a late lunch with the Teen. We'd walked *quite* a bit-we were hot and HANGRY. We were greeted and seated by Ms. Mercedes. She was excellent, pleasant, made great suggestions, accommodated the Teen's custom request for the chicken parmigiana. Ms. M told us we could enjoy the atmosphere as long as we needed to. (We got the chicken salad croissant/tomato bisque and the Ghirardelli brownie to go. My parent LOVED it. The chicken salad tasted like the chicken had been grilled and the salad made right then-super fresh! The brownie was moist, rich, and luxurious.) The shrimp ravioli was seasoned well, creamy without being cloying. I didn't mean to eat it all but I did. I think that's going to be my regular Friday hangout. We ate there and took a whole meal to go. The Teen thoroughly enjoyed her beignets and iced coffee for dessert.

My partner and I ended up here after looking for something completely different, so were very surprised by the wonderful experience we had. The two specials of the day were an escargot scampi appetizer and a two fried pork chops entree. We shared both, and were both delighted with these amazing dishes from this terrific restaurant. Neither of us had tried escargot before (and one had even sworn to never try it) and we both found LPK's to be amazing! Our server was so very friendly and attentive, even providing a tip for a dessert we requested that was not available at LPK (non-locals). Overall, this was an incredibly delightful & serendipitous experience.
