Taqueria Corona is the kind of neighborhood gem that makes you feel lucky to live nearby. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere that captures the spirit of a true Mexican taqueria. The food is consistently flavorful and fresh—whether it’s their sizzling carne asada tacos, generously stuffed burritos, or the addictively crispy chips and house-made salsa that start off every meal just right. It’s clear the ingredients are thoughtfully sourced and the kitchen takes pride in delivering authentic flavors without unnecessary frills. What really sets Taqueria Corona apart, though, is the heart behind the service. The staff is always friendly, attentive, and quick to recognize returning faces, adding a personal touch that’s rare in most casual eateries. The prices are fair, the portions satisfying, and it’s the kind of spot where both quick takeout and slow dinners with friends feel equally right. Whether you’re rolling in for a weekday lunch or winding down with a cold beer and enchiladas after work, it never disappoints. A true staple for the neighborhood.

A great Mexican find in the neighborhood! We ordered the numero tres which was more than enough for two hungry people. We upgraded two tacos to tongue and carne asada ribeye. The star of the show was by far the carne asada deliciously served with a grilled green onion, on par with some of our favorites in Mexico. My wife enjoyed the chorizo taco but it was too heavy on pork flavor for me. The guacamole was solid and the jalapeno slaw was great and spicy, too! The rice and beans were great as well. We chose the shrimp flauta which was a nice combo of shrimp and cheese. The burrito was the weakest link, mostly beans and not much meat. Minus star for no free chips and salsa (which was heavy on the lime, almost like ceviche without the fish).

I gave 4 stars b/c the first question asked 'do you have proof of vaccine'. We were allowed to order 'to go'. We were allowed to stand at the hostess/register station just inside the door. Food was freshly prepared within our view. Taco salad is simple and delicious. Lettuce to other salad ingredients is the best ever. The california burrito is unexpectedly huge 😳, and worth every bite. Cost is minimal, however chips and salsa must be ordered. Frozen margaritas were very good.

The best Mexican food in town! This place has become a second home. Just look at the wall of family pictures sent to them. Everything is quality and made fresh. This is family owned and operated and they take time to make each customer feel the same love they put into their food. Ed is also a swiftie and the best waiter in town!!!! The mom who cooks the food on the grill is gorgeous and hasn't aged a single day in 20 years. The handmade salsa options are elite! The tacos meat is delicious and not greasy at all. There are few places we frequent weekly this is the top one for many years! I love corona and run into so many locals here it feels like a secret club. The music, laughter, and clean atmosphere keeps me returning! No matter how busy they are- they take the time to catch up with you on your life and tell stories of their own. No frills or judgement. When you enter those doors you are treated as a member of their family. This is true NOLA vibes and I honestly have nothing bad to say about this. I was raised in Texas and frequent Mexico often. This is the most authentic cuisine the city has to offer. Much love and to many more...

If I could give a review with no stars, i would.

To begin, we ordered 2 margaritas, a quesadilla, a burrito, and 4 tacos to go, and in total it was $86…. The prices on the menu aren’t consistent with what you’re charged in person. ALL of the meat on every entree was dry, only the burrito had something other than meat on it but it was so wet and poorly wrapped that it had to be eaten with a fork. The chorizo was more like red ground beef pieces, did not taste like chorizo at all. The margaritas were sad, more like limeade with margarita mix. The tacos were tortillas with meat…..period. The cheese quesadilla was as ordered and expected so i guess they earned that one star.

If you’re in the mood for wasting money, go here and good luck, but for this price and quality I could’ve bought the 5 ingredients they used for all the entrees and made this for a week, but better. I'm baffled by the 4.5 star review this place has and pray whoever left 5 stars has raging diarrhea like I’m most likely going to have after...
