The Club — Restaurant in New Plymouth

Funny story with this place.. I was at the double diamond just 3 doors down, having a drink or two alone. I had this "local" (according to the bartender) being really sleezy and creepy towards me. I was about to leave when this sweet lady came in and told me about a live band playing down at the club that night (it was a tuesday)she told me to go in and ask for Heidi. First off, I didn't know there was another bar in town, and I was very much on the verge of just going home since being hit on by a weirdo.

But, I put my big girl panties on and walked 3 doors down to the club, aka Heidi's. I'm an observer, so I scoped the room and chose a seat at the bar top. Asked for Heidi, who happened to be the bartender and owner. She was super friendly and inviting.

I sat there on my phone, listening to the band and sipping on my dr. Pepper and vanilla vodka, when I got approached by another guy. (I thought, oh boy, here we go again).. He asked if I was waiting on someone and I told him no. Then he asked to sit next to me. I looked at Heidi as I was skeptical. But she reassured me he was harmless and a really great guy. We ended up talking for what felt like forever. Even locals were coming up and letting me know how great of a guy he was. We actually hit it off and have been seeing eachother ever since that night.

I had just gotten out of a 13 year marriage and had only been divorced for 2 months. He had also gotten out of a bad relationship that summer. I truly believe God works in mysterious ways and we were both meant to meet that night. It's just funny how things work out.

Heidi is a good friend of mine now. And my man and I both love supporting her business. ❤️

I highly recommend checking it out. If you're single, you may find someone like I did or if you just want to come and chat with the locals and have a good drink, I'd recommend doing that too.

Beers cold, nice atmosphere. The bathroom is always clean. Its a smoking bar but doesnt smell like cigs. So being a non smoker that is nice. Heidi makes popcorn that is free and if your like me you like to snack while sipping a beer. I like the bands that she has and its just overall a hoot everytime we come in. My husband and I play darts there sometimes also....

Hard working friendly owner, friendly prices and friendly folks at this local dive bar. Hard to watch sporting events though when all the tvs are behind your back while sitting at the bar and the pool table is usually unlevel as they constantly have to move it for bands on the weekends.
