Grandma Sally’s is clearly loved by many in New Port Richey, and I always appreciate supporting a local business. The atmosphere is welcoming, our server was very kind, and the food is affordable. My eggs and hash browns were cooked just right, and it’s easy to see why people enjoy coming here.
There are, however, a few areas that could really improve the experience. The biscuits were quite dry, and several of our dishes (my plate, my friend’s plate, and her bowl) had noticeable cracks. It would make a big difference to replace dinnerware, both for safety and presentation. The women’s restroom (two stalls) worked fine but felt a bit cramped and outdated. The water had a strong chlorinated taste, which carried over into the coffee.
Seating was a little tricky too. We were initially placed at a very small two-top, and although booths did open up, we weren’t able to move to one. Eventually we switched to a four-top ourselves. To-go boxes were Styrofoam, which felt less environmentally friendly than alternatives many restaurants now use.
On the positive side, the staff were friendly, the ambiance was lively, and there’s clearly marked accessible parking outside. There is a credit card fee to be aware of.
I may not return myself, but I truly value the role local restaurants like this play in the community. With a few updates — especially replacing cracked dinnerware — Grandma Sally’s could be an even better place for locals and...
Read moreIf I could give this place more stars I would. I don’t even know where to start. I have been here numerous times and every time have had a phenomenal service. The staff is just amazing and so friendly. They work together and it looks like they have created a work family. The owner seems to be doing every position in the restaurant from greeting customers, sitting them down, picking up dishes from tables. But most importantly he treats his staff with respect. I’ve witnessed him laugh with them, help them out and make sure they are okay. The staff knows most customers that come in by name. It goes without saying that no matter where your business is located, at a busy intersection or hidden away you will always succeed by having an amazing customer service and great food. Notice how I’ve talked about customer service and the staff before I even mentioned anything about the food?! That says a lot. FOOD is AMAZING. I have gone to plenty of restaurants within the area and they don’t come close to Grandma Sally’s. I was taken care of by Barbara last time and want to make sure she is recognized. The restaurant was super busy. I didn’t wait but one minute before she brought out my water and coffee and took my order. My food came out in less than 10 minutes. She never stopped moving, checking on each customer table by table. Excellent service. So happy to see small local businesses succeed like this especially during...
Read moreThis was our first visit (Google lead) and we are delighted to have found Grandma Sally's! The location is very deceiving, once you walk in the door the restaurant is spacious, clean and beautiful. The staff is very welcoming, friendly and attentive, the service was great and fast. My husband had the Texas steak and cheese sandwich with fries, I got the open faced hot turkey sandwich which came with mashed potatoes, gravy and the most amazingly delicious zucchini and summer squash casserole. The food was plentiful and so delicious. I love turkey but am hesitant about ordering it in restaurants because you typically get the equivalent of sliced deli meat, not here, the turkey was roasted, hand sliced and the serving was so large that I took half of it home. My husband's meal was just as big and he said both his sandwich and fries were excellent. The menu prices are very reasonable too, our bill for the two meals plus drinks were less than $30! The only thing I would have liked to be different is the gravy for the turkey. It may have been chicken gravy but whatever it was it didn't do justice to the meal. Otherwise the food and experience were top notch and we will...
