This is a corporate fiasco. (Now a fee to enter the public park, this is Wrong and Unwarranted!) (THE TWO STARS WE GAVE THIS EVENT IS IN RECONIGION OF THE CONTINUING EFFORTS OF THE Native American Representatives and their continuing Struggle with the incorporated efforts of The Chasco Fiesta⢠Steering Committee. (same as it even was.)
"Entrance to the Native American Festival is free on Monday, March 28, and then will cost $5 per day to attend. Children 12 years and younger are admitted at no charge."
The Carnival Cost: (always has) Wristbands are available for $30 each or attendees can purchase individual tickets at $1.50 each, 20 tickets for $30, or 50 tickets for $60.
'Entrance to the Native American Festival is free on Monday, March 28, and then will cost $5 per day to attend. Children 12 years and younger are admitted at no charge".
Just look at the logo for this event. A Native American and the phrase "A Legacy of Giving" This event is outright exploitation and has actively separated the events and it traditions into different events. "Occurring simultaneously will be the Chasco Fiesta Carnival and the Native American Festival at 5 p.m" So now they are separate events.
100 years of exploitation of the Native American community has reach it's lowest on the 100 year anniversary of the 98th fiasco. It's not enough to segregate the Native American vendors and activities to the back of the park. But now the promoters have separated the actual festivals.
Now organizations charges $5.00 to enter the public park during these events. We personally were stopped on the sidewalk and told "we can't just sneak in". This Troll toll was unexpectedly and rudely forced upon us by people in plain clothing standing in a make shift tent in the center of the sidewalk. Literally blocking the sidewalk. No sign that say admission required, No greeters to welcome the park goers. Just some self righteous people forcing their administrative authority onto unsuspecting park visitors. Preventing entrance to a public park and assuming the worst of people who have no idea that "Now" there is a fee.
"What started as a means to raise money to support the local library has since grown to benefit multiple nonprofit (profiting) organizations". (not the community not the city. Chasco Fiesta⢠is a 501(C)4 organization, and in 2019 benefited 20 not-for-profit organizations in the local community and surrounding areas. This event has been hijack for corporate gains and is utilizing the city park "payed for by tax payers" and this historical event as a means of commercial profit. Then again it is a trade mark (registered trade mark) event, So the none profit behind it is the fallacy. The Chasco Fiesta⢠Steering Committee has 12 Volunteers who work throughout the year planning and organizing the event. These are the people responsible for the continuing exploitation. How many of these "Volunteers" profit from this event as local business owners?
_This is what other people felt "The parade was only an hour long no pretty floats the carnival has hardly any games for the kids itās very disappointing for being the hundred year celebration"
"Pretty pathetic that they took the field away from youth football and cheer and made it a carnival very sad the Bucs had that field since 1984 sad , but there is politics at its finest just nonsense."
"Barley anything to do there. Just went today very disappointed. But if you go make sure u bring cash! Only a few places take cards".
"I'm not paying money to go in and spend money. New Port Snobby Richey no thank you".
"it's closed off except Monday all day and Saturday April 2nd for Boat Parade until 5:30 pm. We could not put this festival on with out the small charge. The $5 will get you craft vendors, food vendors (out of food with a 30min. wait), Native American Festival Shows (treated as a side show) and of course the music (all for profit)". (except all the years before the entrance fee.) No thanks....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was our first time experiencing this event and I have to say we will not be back. We arrived and walked up to the table at the entrance to ask questions, such as where do we pay, what's all included, where the rides were located (they were up the street in a separate location), etc. The ladies manning the table instantly had an attitude and stated "I don't work for them I just take the money you need to go that way" and turned away. Frustrated we walked around to the other entrance where we again were met with attitudes and no help. We were then told that the $5 entrance fee that the website stated was not for that day even though the website said $5 on the exact date the website displayed, it also gave the incorrect address on the website , as well of not stating the rides were an 18 min walk up the street. So we left and spent our money at a different event. Very disappointed considering we drove from out of town to attend this event and was met with nothing but attitudes, unhelpful attendants and frustration. If we actually received some help considering we were not from the area we...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI donāt know whoās bright idea it was to change the location of this event but you should be reprimanded for your absolutely horrible decision. āIf it aināt broke donāt fix it!ā Chasco fiesta, fair rides included have been held at sims park for as long as I can remember, and has been a memorable great time every single year. so many child hood memories have been held at that park and at this event you have ruined that for me and for generations to come. this is the worst location for this fair that I could even think of. Half of the rides are missing and Iām still paying $25 for a wrist band to stand in the blistering sun with no where to escape in the back of some run down school. If this continues you will not catch me coming to āchasco...
