We were on our way to a different sushi place in Port Orange but decided to try this place instead since we haven't yet. We went for lunch on a Friday (day after Thanksgiving), but it was not busy. We were the first ones in. Sat at the sushi bar. We went with the lunch special 3 rolls for 15.95. Spicy tuna, spicy yellowtail, and then the salmon avocado roll to give a try. Very simple rolls for the price but comes with soup. The miso was very good with tofu and seaweed and a good consistency of rich flavor and not watery. It's very tasty. Hot tea to drink. It's in a ceramic cup and not a tea pot. The water was very hot and green tea tasted good. They do charge you 2.95 a person. The service was not very attentive but very nice. We had to ask for everything. He wasn't far because he also helped with making the sushi. Now that we knew it tasted good, we ordered one of their specialty rolls featured today, 17.95 king salmon roll. To tell you the truth, it tasted very similar to the other rolls we just ate (3/$15.95+soup). Now when we go for sushi we usually order a lot if it's good and spend well over $100. We spent about $50, which is with a good tip. Just add another $6 to the chef's tip jar, too. I would go back for lunch and also maybe try the poke bowl. We wanted to try the red tuna too. If in NSM and wanting sushi, I...
Read moreMy husband and I gave Osaka a shot for the first time a little under a week ago and went back tonight as well (forgot to get pictures). Both times were stellar. I've eaten a lot of sushi, a LOT, I have gotten a lot of rolls, but these are SO fresh and the flavor is SO good. The snowcrab roll at Osaka tastes better than any other place in the area, it might just be a bit of fake crab and some mayo but it is SO good. The tamago/egg cake is delicious and juicy and it's NOT COLD. If you've ever gotten it from other places, it's good but sometimes it can be SO cold, this is a little warm and juicy and delicious. Their onion soup is also divine and I've had two each time I went, I can't help it. The salmon hand roll we got was generous with the amount of salmon and it was delicious. I could sing praises of Osaka the entire night if I let myself. We've been to tons of sushi places but between the first time and tonight - Osaka is our new favorite and we will be back many many times. I can't wait to try everything on the menu. Pictures attached are steamed gyoza, takoyaki, salmon hand roll, chicken tempura hand roll, and tamago/egg cake. And a plate with the two hand rolls and a...
Read moreVery nice place. Our second time here. Came here yesterday for boba and got some desserts as well. Pretty simple, but yet so good. We decided to come here the next day for lunch, and that’s what we did. Ordered different sushi for everyone and a soup, except the little one, we ordered her chicken teriyaki from the kids menu. The soups came in first. Miso is very tasty, and the seafood soup was salty and had a lot of crab sticks, and shrimp. Also very good. I don’t remember all of the names of the sushi we got, but all of it was good. After we finished we decided to order another plate of the black dragon sushi which we all liked the most. The kids teriyaki also was very good, and the little one really liked it. Our waiter came up to us at some point, and talked to us and asked some questions. She was really nice. Then we ordered some boba and that was it. Everything was great so it’s a bit sad that there were no other people at...
