I went in this past Wednesday with a co-worker after work. I, for some reason, thought they closed at 8- but they close at 7. We got there at 6:45 and they still served us (I genuinely don’t support or condone doing this). This modern sandwich style eatery will blow you out of the water. It is exactly what NSB has been missing and what it needs. I usually can’t finish a meal in a sitting but gluttony kicked in when a burst of flavors hugged my tongue from “the Clayton.” I ordered wings to go as well. I was so full- but because I had such an INSANE experience with the sandwich I needed to take a bite of the chicken wings before I headed out (I got a 50/50 batch). I’ve worked all over the country and have had the opportunity to work with phenomenal chefs, especially in the pacific north west and I can tell you that the flavors that were incorporated in the items I purchased reminded me so much of my time spent there; and the bountiful amount of toppings/meat on the sandwiches reminds me of the north east. If you’re reading this review and you’re debating on going- go. It’s unbiased and I now celebrate bragging about this restaurant to everyone I interact with from friends & family to guests I serve at the bar I work at. I genuinely want to see this place flourish, because I’m selfish and I want to be able to get a sandwich from this spot forever. This should be at the peak of your list. The pastrami is made daily in their HUGE smoker. The sandwich is huge and OMG good. Better than Pastrami Queen on the Upper East Side of NYC and Better than Juniors in Times Square. ABSOLUTELY THE BEST CHEESEBURGER WE HAVE EVER HAD. it is spectacular. Full of flavor with some lovely condiments on it that make it sweet, crunch and oh so yummy. The MUST HAVE item is the french fries "OC" Style. These are double fried for extra crispiness and coated with some magical seasoning that is incredible. We will go back again just for the fries. Desserts are to die for. We had the cheesecake of the week and the pie of the week. The pie was coconut creme and it was really great. this place is 2 thumbs way up. Owner is an unbelievable chef but his wife sets the weekly cheesecake and pie choices. LOL!!! Check out all of our reviews and look at all the photos below. Read moreGirlfriend saw this place on an instagram reel, went for the fries (voted #1 in Volusia/flagler county btw). We decided to try today’s (sept 12) specials and whoa… talk about delicious.
The puglisi was great, it was everything I wanted in an Italian sub. The best part was the spicy mayo and pickled onions. The flavor combination was mouth watering.
Girlfriend grabbed the saki… 🥹 the pork was incredible. Juicy. Delicious. The flavors of the lemongrass complemented the Smokey flavor of the pork and the lime sauce sealed the deal. Amazing.
The sub rolls are fire, not some huge bread induced filler that you can barely tell what’s in the Sammie… no. Not here. The rolls used were soft and thin enough that every bite you could taste flavor.
Even though the subs were great. The fries were the bomb. We got them “OC” way, basically just old bay. The fries are hand-cut and crispy, no wonder they were awarded Best in the county.
A bunch of items are smoked right on premise, kudos to the Chef/Owner for having something great for reasonable prices.
