Summary: Customer Rip-Off ! The food you actually get is NOT what the Menu describes. Although they are willing to ADD ingredients & even make subtitutions, the Menu is so large that the order taker was too easily confused. I think there may be a Language barrier at issue here bc I had to use Spanish to obtain Water. The main part of my order was Poached Eggs but after spending 5" to clarify the secondary ingredients, the order taker OMITTED My EGGS! My daughter asked Me to bring her a Lox sandwich. I began that order by saying all Nuts + Seeds must STAY OUT of this next sandwich due to Allergies ! My daughter got one full of Sesame + Poppy seeds. A friend ordered a Hummus sandwich with BARELY any Hummus in it !!!! CLEARLY, the Customer is being Ripped-OFF here both unintentioally & INTENTIONALly...but with a SMILE ! Sorry but that is NOT good Customer $ervice & I will not go back again. Likely these folks are NOT the Original Owner who designed the enticing Menu, but hav tried to exploit the pre-existing cunsumer base for Money only ! They should downsize the Menu, STOP pretending to offer WHOLE GRAIN Complex Carbs, & do a FEW things WELL . Please IMPROVE COMMUNICATION with the people YOU GET MONEY FOM !!!!!An impoverished 70 yrs old woman walked 3 miles to her new pop-up job site & needed to find a reasonably priced Breakfast of HEALTHY food on this UNusual occasion. I am that woman. I spent 30" online reading the complex, highly customized but well organized MENU My ❤ was set on POACHed EGGS atop LOX on a WHOLE GRAIN roll or Croissant w Red Onion, Avocado, Greens + Chipotle Mayo. For THAT I was willing to pay $13 - $20. Location beautiful, but no facility for tethering dogs outside. My small quiet dog was already fully walked, so I took him IN w Me. The staff was welcoming + busy working their stations on a mmid-morning w little foot traffic. My 1st time there & I did not use a # menu NUMBER. But I spoke clearly + simply !! I never did get my 2 poached eggs bc the patient order taker's 1st language was not English & my order was botched ! I was distracted by a pkeasant new acquaintance outside, where I sat down to eat. I ate 1/2 of my sandwich B4 realizing there were NO EGGS !!! I was too exhausted from the trial of ordering to try to get my 2 eggs. The Lox. + Avocado were good, but the Ciabatta was NOT Whole grain & it WILL create Diabetes as a staple in one's diet !!!!! NOT OK for a $15...

I decided to go to Brooklyn Bread to try an acai Bowl, which is one of my favorite things to eat.

The place is packed because it's lunch time, so I'm thinking that the deliciousness is just waiting to be served up, although I'm not getting a sandwich, from what I heard, I'm expecting this to be a good experience.

I ordered a Tropical Paradise bowl and added peanut butter. Took a nice stroll in the Sun from Brooklyn Bread back to my place of employment to eat my "Tropical Paradise" Acai Bowl.

First thing was the peanut butter was on top, so all the fruit and the peanut butter stuck to the lid, that's what is a sign that this could be BAD! (Not how you do that)

Anyway, I proceeded to take the lid off the bowl and take a nice scoop of a couple of side fruits and coconut flakes. Upon tasting the acai base, it was like warm jelly or preserves. I couldn't believe it. I'm a no-nonsense type of person who does not waste my money on any establishments, This is getting walked right back in my refund is going to be returned, It was.

N🚫 Brooklyn Bread Acai Bowls. I am an expert on these bowls (eating & making)

Obviously, they need help in that field.

If and when you do make improvements, invite me back. Let's get you all on the top list of acai bowl makers, or just stop offering them @ this...

I live across the street from Brooklyn Bread and have been going there consistently since they opened in 2003. I’ve eaten and drank just about everything they have ever sold over the last 18 years.

While no business and certainly no food business is perfect this place consistently makes great sandwiches and salads and serves very good coffee - which I drink black so I can really taste the coffee and know BB coffee is very smooth.

Since expanding to their new location just one block north of their original location, the vibe, which was always good, got so much better. Now they have a really cool outside garden space and a much larger inside space.

For the real foodies out there, they use top shelf stuff like prosciutto de parma and have a balsamic glaze reduction they drizzle over many of their sandwich creations - which by the way can keep you mesmerized while looking over their menu for way too long!

If you’re looking for a high end deli with endless creative selections and a really cool place to hang out this is definitely the place for you! Oh and by the way, the staff is really nice as well. Do yourself a favor...

Ordered the tuna melt sandwich. Not quite what I was expecting. Cheese wasn’t melted. Tuna salad missing spices like the basic salt and pepper. It wasn’t horrible but I don’t think it was great just ok I guess. They have a lot of options on the menu so I’ll give them another shot next time. Customer service could use a little boost with maybe a hello there and a smile all around which I didn’t get and witnessed a bunch of customers not getting either while I waited for my sandwich for at least 15 minutes which is a bit too long to wait for a tuna sandwich I think. Also a thank you for your business would not hurt your business and actually would be helpful. Sounds like I had a bad experience here but I didn’t, over all it was good just pointing out a few things that would be good for all to know.

I lead HR at Avant Gardner and wanted to surprise our staff by ordering breakfast. On a Tuesday night, I called Brooklyn Cafe last minute to place an order for 50 people, and they truly outdid themselves! Gluten free, vegan and vegetarian options available! The food was hot, tasty, and the customer service was excellent. The store was clean, and everyone was so welcoming. Special thanks to Melissa and Lenny! We will definitely make this location a staple for our office orders. The portion sizes were impressive too. You get what you pay for and MORE! I'm so glad I found this neighborhood gem through Google! Definitely hit them up!
