Café Au Lee — Restaurant in New York

giving one star because otherwise i cant post a review. their prices have increased drastically in the past few months. I am fully aware of the increased costs of food. these prices are beyond ridiculous compared to other restaurants in the same area. on top of that they started charging a 10% new york state fee. what kind of fee is that? whoever I asked never heard of this type of charge. I never heard of any other restaurant charging this fee. it should be called STC fee ( screw the customer) because that is exactly what they are doing. this is illegal to add 10% to the bill on top of the total including tax. will not order from this establishment again. Shady AF !

this establishment started charging a 10% additional fee on every order. this charge is on top of their already astronomical prices. when i complained i was told i can go somewhere else. who in their right mind would send away customers? people that dont care and charge a hidden fee "just because they think they can" ! if the owners ever see this review TRUST ME I HAVE ALREADY GONE ELSEWHERE AND I AM MAKING SURE MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY DO THE SAME! its difficult to believe that the positive reviews are not paid for and/or written by friends and family. editing my review: 5/30/2022 after doing some research I found out that one of the owners was the one that told me to go elsewhere. that is his answer to anyone that complains about the new 10%...

I bought 2 slices pizza and a Snapple. The pizza was not that good, lacked sweetness in the sauce. But the pizza price was just a little high, 4 dollars for a regular slice? But outrageous was my Snapple which should've been no more than maybe 2 - 2.50 at most. They charged me almost 4 dollars! 3.50 + tax = 3.80 !! ridiculous! Never going there again! Just adding even if someone thinks maybe that's the going price in the local heimish stores, it's not.
