If I could give Cemitas ZERO stars, I would. I placed an Uber Eats order over an hour ago. When I called Cemitas to get an update he lied to me saying that my order went out 5-10 min ago. When those 10 min passed, I called Uber Eats Support. They called Cemitas who then told them that my order was a “self pick up” order. Uber Eats support confirmed to the restaurant it’s not a “self pick up” and is actually a “delivery” order. They could offer me a refund for this disgraceful service. When I called Cemitas back again to confirmed what Uber Eats reported, the same man basically told us to come pick up the food that’s been sitting by the window for the last 20 minutes. So he lied about my order going out for delivery and then lied about my order being a “self pick up”. Check the attached photos for proof that it was in fact for delivery. AND THEN he hung up on us telling us to call Uber Eats cause they are responsible. This is the SECOND time that Cemitas has used the excuse that my order is a “self pick up.” To the owner - my husband and I have been your loyal customers for the last 5 years. We will never come back and we will also be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau thanks to the person working at your establishment on June 10th between the hours of 7:30 - 8:50pm.
UPDATE: It is 10:15pm, 3 hours after I placed my order, and a delivery person is ringing my doorbell saying that Cemitas sent him a notice for delivery. The fact that Cemitas just now chose to find a delivery person to deliver this food at 10 o’clock on a Monday night is SHAMELESS!!!!! How do I know? Because I answered the delivery guy’s call and he told me that he JUST got this delivery notification from Cemitas and would I be accepting the food. NO I WILL NOT BE ACCEPTING MY 7:30pm ORDER AT 10:15pm!!!!
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS DISGRACEFUL...
Read moreToday, 07/22/ 20225 The server on the shift never picked up the phone calls made to the store and I have on the line for 15 mins and no one answered. Everytime the girl is not working, no one picks up the phone calls. When confronted about the constant issue, the server started to raise his voice at me and became nasty; the time of voice and demeanor when speaking to me was very disrespectful, arrogant and nasty. And I even expressed the fact that this only happens whenever the female worker is not n shift. I even told her yesterday that service is not the same when she is not around. When I said that I will be speaking to the Manager about his rudeness and constant attitude and not answering the phone calls, he went and pointed the chef to the me and said that’s the Manager. When I asked him why he arrogantly called the Manager, he said I asked to speak to the Manager so here he is. I went to the Chef to talk to him because I know him for a long time because I come to the restaurant and order from there a lot at least 3 to 4 times a week. I told the chef that this is not the first time this happens and that the worker I’m had the habits of not answering the phone and give an attitude. The chef said he will speak to the Boss. I may be mistaken but this is what happens when restaurants or places hire family members or friends who don’t respect the core values of customer service and are vey comfortable being rude to people even when the person is calmly trying to express their misadventure with the service being provided. A simple sorry with an appropriate demeanor would have made things better. I walked out the door and did not pursue with the order with fear that he might put something in my food out of spite. I hope this worker gets some reprimand for his action. Will not be going or...
Read moreI ordered the "10 layer" beef short rib barbacoa cemita sandwich and paid almost $20 for it. I guess 10 layers sounds more impressive than 10 burger toppings (since when is mayonnaise considered a layer?)
Following the burger train of thought, the sandwich I got was about as wide as a Whopper and almost as tall as a Big Mac. It tasted about as average. Kind of reminded me of a shredded beef sandwich you'd get at a BBQ picnic minus the BBQ sauce.
At least half the "layers" mentioned (Oaxaca cheese, papalo) were drowned out by mayo & meat; it could have been mozzarella & parsley for all I know which is disappointing since I was curious to taste those less common sandwich toppings. I feel like some lime juice & cilantro (the most basic of Mexican staples) could have balanced out the mayo meatyness & bumped this up a star.
Maybe this is authentic to the kind of flavors Californian style Mexican food serves up and maybe their other offerings (tacos, burritos) are tastier. But when your restaurant is named after a dish and the signature dish is underwhelming (and overcharging), I'm not keen to try the other stuff. 🤷
(Posting photos with a $20 bill for mildly...
