Over price, food appears more like shrink flatiion prices, I went there thinking they only sell Central American food but it's a mixture of Salvadoran / Mex. They had a board with the posted price only to find out that it was not the actual price and not consistent with their menu pamphlet price.
Example: I ordered a Burrito posted price $10.50 Pamphlet: price $9 what they charge me $11.99 I order 3 popusas price $3.99 each pamphlet price $3 I order a Tamal chicken $3.99 on the posted board Pamphlet $3 by the way very small enough for a little person. A Orchata was $7.99 over total came out to $37 then when I reviewed my receipt it went down to $34.50 then I opt out of the orchata and got me. Can of soda. The total take out order was $30.50
I been to Salvadoran restaurant the puposas they have are average size but they were good specifically with the sauce.
The tamal well at that price I sent them much larger very small for a Tamal and it fell apart when I opened it...nothing to see and it was ok.🫣🥱🥱
The burrito was average size over price but it was good according to my guess I didn't bother to even taste it cause I already had a bitter taste from the over price item🥴🥴 and the shrinkflation items.🤔🤔😱😱
The place looks very cozy but make sure you check the price and make sure you keep track of what you order, and it did take more then 20 minutes to finally receive my take out order.
I was very disappointed with the experience since I haven't been in the neighborhood in several years.🥺
The girl at the counter was very nice, she did address my concerns but since I was in a rush I didn't entertain the details.🤫🫢
I will follow up again and keep you posted and remember the posted price is not the right price...
Read morePlaced 2 orders with them and the food is great. This review is about the 3rd call with them.
The first order had no delivery fee, the 2nd had a $2 charge (which was told to me because of my address) and I said I was fine with it.
Now the third call. I place an order for 5 pupusas and 2 sodas, about $18. I add a $4 tip and finish the call with ''your total is $31''. I called back a minute later to ask about that total and a woman explained that its a $7 delivery fee. I ask to cancel because thats an insane amount. She says ''you agreed to the price so we cant do anything about it'' for 5 minutes, also explaining they have a no refund policy (i never received food or anything).
Again, food is great, hence the extra star, and the young lady who picks up the phone is nice, but the other older woman left such a bad taste that even the food will NEVER fix.
I wouldn't want to call a restaurant that is not upfront about their prices or change ANYTHING after a minute, since that is too unreasonable.
EDIT: After the explanation I've changed the review to 1 star. A business saying that calling 8 minutes after to disagree on a delivery fee and losing a customer shows how stubborn you are and I don't support that with my wallet, and neither will the community members who I've already recommended here.
The young lady making a mistake is completely fine. The young lady also told me the delivery fee before, which is why I accepted it last time. For you (who I know is the owner) to want to not tell me the delivery fee and try to add it on without asking is the shady part that I DONT support.
This is not about the $7, this is about how you handled this...
Read moreHad rice flour pupusas and they were good and had just enough flavor, with the cheese lightly salty and the chorizo a little spicy kick to it. However, I need to try it right when it is made to see how it tastes then, as this time I brought it home and reheated it.
What was unexpectedly good was the tamales and the Quesadilla Salvadoreña. I tried the corn tamales not knowing what to expect but it was sweet (maybe carnation?). I ordered a bean tamales but believe I got a chicken one, which was still good and different from the tamales I usually get since this one was savory, moist, and wrapped in a banana leaf. The Quesadilla Salvadoreña was also sweet but not overly sweet, similar in taate to the corn tamales.
The family that runs the place was very nice, calling me to check in as I was running late to pick up the order. Also, when they forgot to give me part of the order, the lady ran out...
