El Gallo Negro — Restaurant in New York

Horrible horrible experience. Food good as always, but on Tuesday evening, what was really quiet and lose, the unnamed waiter was rushing from here to there, too much moving but no service. The kitchen was more focused on serving to go and delivery orders instead of serving the floor sales. ONE HOUR waiting for 3 tacos, 3 quesabirrias and one lousy taco arabe. ONE HOUR!! The waiter was most of the time on the phone chatting and not paying attention to floor sales patrons. She was making-believe she was working but she didn’t give a damn about nobody. When finally our order was done, the kitchen’s bell was ringing and ringing and she was -obviusly!- on her celphone!! Another waiter had to pick up her order and bring it to the table to us. Her service was sooo terrible that she didn't event put her name on the check, she just put “trainee” Worst service...

Their new location on crescent street in LIC is awful! The food is good, but if you don’t speak Spanish they get your order wrong every time, as well as have given me the incorrect change twice now. So far 0-2. Was hoping it l was a fluke the first time it wasn’t sadly. They also tell you that you can replace a side for rice and beans then proceed to charge you 5 dollars. The service in the place is also awful. The food is authentic and good. But the service is the worst I’ve ever experienced. I know it’s a new location, but you can’t mess up orders 2 days in a row as well as incorrect change twice. They also only accept cash so it’s hard to dispute once they...

4/17/24 first time here. We came for brunch, 8 of us ... We sat at the bar & we were the only ones in the place at 10:30am on a Wednesday... (Not a surprise). So given those conditions, service was good and friendly, the food and drinks were really good and the prices are very reasonable too! I had the Morning Burrito and it was really good, the potatoes were nice and not over cooked. Chips n salsa are good, the little sauces you get are nice, the green is not hot at all, the red has some heat to it and it's a nice flavor too, try the little red one if you like hot.

Others had huevos rancheros and liked it. It did look good and I'll get that next time. So we...
