Empanadas RD Southern Boulevard — Restaurant in New York

Great Food. Authentic and well presented. Not too greasy or "empapada de mazola" thick with oil. Very generous portions. Quick service and good taste. My only knock is i had ordered a big order for a few friends & a get together i had at home. The food came fast as I'm around the area by the 174th Train Station & my concern is that certain items were mixed up or honestly traded for something else. My order consisted mostly of egg empanadas for myself, the cuban style empanada that in the picture looks amazing, but when properly received it did not seem to be the same inside as advertized or perhaps it was mistakenly given other ingredients because this delivery included what appeared to be chicken of some sort but really good still just not what i was expecting when i took a bite. Lastly, I understand that mistakes happen and I have had them several times since then and maybe I just expect too much from that specific empanada as it hasn't lived up to my expectation and what I have been visibly anchored with, but I digress. I really hope this business does well because the owner, I believe his name is Henry if i'm not mistaken, seems like a genuine all around good dude who wants to progress and attain that piece of the American Dream we’re all so enamored with. I wish him luck as it's not hard to be an entrepreneur during these uncertain times. But if the food keeps knocking it out the park as it has been in conjunction with the deliveries being timely and effective (i know that last part is out of Empanadas & Henry's hands for the most part, but you need luck in order to succeed as well). The empanadas are delicious here and the sauce they pair them up with is beyond amazing. But when I visit to make a purchase there is an older woman on Tuesdays she is there I go after 3 pm normally. She is very accommodating and polite with persons of her own ethnicity. I’m PR , and I feel insulted by her mannerisms with servicing me . My son has witnessed her behavior as well . She does not greet me , she is silent she does not speak . She stares at me when I approach the counter does nt ask what I want and is no help when I try to pronounce the Latin titles for the food items on the menu. If I’m struggling she stares and does not show me or tell me what is in the empanadas or which one she has she points at the menu. Not everyone is from the same demographics . She charges me for the extra packet of sauces but when the younger female works and I ask she gives me extra sauce with no charge . And she is more polite and accommodating. This woman seems to purposely make me wait long for orders , she added an extra dollar after ringing everything up did not answer when I asked her why the extra charge when the order fee was already summed up with tax included . She first say Ty and has a stoic look on her face when dealing with me. She always takes customers that came in after me ahead of me . She is very rude . Definitely giving this place 1 star for the absolutely TERRIBLE service and attitude from the lady at the register. 1st time I came, I ordered for pickup and I show the lady at the front my order just to check in and let her know I'm here. She says "oh but you just placed the order right now"... I know that, I am just letting her know im not rushing her, just that I'm here. 10/15 minutes pass, I ask her about how long. She says 10 minutes. I waited another 20 or so minutes, I go ask again, and see my food has been sitting there for the past 15 minutes. Okay. I go again last night, order the same thing, and do the same thing. I ask her about how long because I was going to step out and be right back. She says "8 minutes", so I give her about 15 minutes. I come back, and she's just chilling in the back chatting with the cook, not caring or being attentive at all, I ask her if it's ready she says give her one minute, and proceeds to chat and take the next orders. At this point it's extremely disrespectful I NEVER gave her any attitude until she did that. All she had to do was say it will be a while or whatever and that would have been fine instead of just making something and having me run with it. Definitely 1 star for how I was...
