Five Guys — Restaurant in New York

The representative at the cash register was rude and condescending. It seemed as if she was bothered that my partner and I went in to even place an order. It seemed like it was too much work for her to enter what toppings we wanted on the burger. She was also too busy flirting with her coworker who seemed to be on break to take our order. I went to the section where we pick up our food and there was a representative who was putting the fries in cups and handing people their orders. There was one order she called that didn’t answer right away. When the person for that order turned up, she looked at the girl and said “oh so you just didn’t see me calling your number when you’re right in my face?” The customer grabbed her stuff and left. One of her coworkers (the person cooking the burgers) told her to relax. The rep who was rude proceeded on saying that the customer got her upset. (The customer did nothing wrong). Things like this is what drives customers away from businesses. This not how you conduct a business. In the middle of a pandemic, you have people who wish they were in the position she was in, being employed. There are so many people who are jobless and need jobs. She clearly doesn’t care...

If I'm pressed to pick my favorite burger, I prefer Smashburger to Five Guys, but that shouldn't suggest Five Guys pedals a sub par burger. Far from it. And when I'm done shopping, this convenient location situated in an outdoor shopping mall right off the Whitestone Bridge, satisfies my burger needs every time.

As locations go, this is one of the more moderately spaced sites I've seen in terms of square footage. While the foot traffic always seems lacking, I suspect the real business comes during school lunch hours (there's a school across the street). Since there's no waitstaff to speak of, I don't usually crack down on customer service for places like this. I'm satisfied if the orders are correct and there's a minimum of courtesy and competence. In this regard, this location has never failed.

They also haven't failed in their signature food, the burgers. Tasty and scrumptious each time with fries that can be a bit spotty (sometimes they're dead-on crispy and soft, other times they can be soggy and greasy). All in all, this is a fine location and the burgers they churn out have always hit the spot in terms of quality and...

I ordered 80 dollars of food got two sandwiches thrown in a bag. What is worse is I call the place to tell them the order was delivered completely incorrect the woman tells me to come in and she will replace the order. I get there no one acknowledges me so I finally tell them I am the one who called she calls the manger. Who never comes over while the counter woman continues to ignore me and with an attitude. When I asked her if anyone was going to come speak to me she said we are really slammed and it’s only us 3. So that means you don’t provide service I would have waited but at least come over and act like you care about your customer. I left rather than let anyone take me out of my place. And karma does come around. This place has the worst service ever and for that reason ONLY I will give them a bad review...
