Homemade Taqueria Maspeth — Restaurant in New York

No stars at all for this dump! It's the worst customer service you can ever receive and mind you I simply called to find out how much my sisters food was, the lady who answered had the worst attitude and said "conyaso" to me while I called. Mind you their food is terrible to say the least and when I went into the restaurant to ask to speak to manager the girl refused to let me speak to them. Says alot about their establishment, plus their tacos are disgusting. Not the worst part, ...hold up...Then the nasty rude insidious counter girl (get this!!) Threw my food in the garbage and shrugged her shoulders. THEN...SHE INSULTED MY MOTHER!!!!!! LOL....I was like obviously she's way better than yours cause she actually taught me respect, honor and to treat people kindly, which brings me back to my main point 👉DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT ORDER...from homemade tacqueria unless you want to waste your money and ruin your day. This model employee of the month obviously had a bad day but just cause you hate your life, job and possibly self because your mouth says it all. The manager should get the message to hire more qualified customer qualified representatives who have common sense, decency or proper customer service as a proper establishment should ensure all customers are respected since they are technically paying their bills to even run. What's the point of selling food to treat people like garbage. Perhaps, I suggest she should take a proper etiquette course and retire from this line for work cause I definitely would if I had such a terrible outlook on working with others. A lesson we can learn here is when you have a business to run and you serve food which is livelihood do it with a smarter approach to win the customer back perhaps, maybe mom could have reminded her better. You better off making you own tacos at home and save yourself the disappointment and atrocious...

I don’t ever write reviews, but this restaurant has never disappointed me and deserves so much love! Honestly not sure why the ratings aren’t higher. So far I have only ordered tacos, but they were so good that I have done so multiple times-and I’m quite a taco obsessed fiend so that’s saying a lot :).

In a taco, when there are so few ingredients and toppings beside cilantro and onion to distract you, the quality of the protein really matters. And here, every single protein has been succulent, tender and delicious. I don’t crave guacamole or sauces like I typically do when I’m given bland and chewy meat at other places, these are that good as is. BUT the red and green sauces are necessary to just amp everything up to 11, they have so much complex flavor that I could drink them like soup lol. And usually restaurants disappoint me by giving me red sauces that are barely spicy or even TOO spicy and lacking flavor aside from that; you will not have that problem here! Your nose and eyes may water if you’re weak like me but in my opinion these sauces are the perfect middle between plain savory and super spicy.

There’s also such an abundance of meat in each taco that just two are enough for a whole meal!! Doesn’t mean I won’t make myself sick eating 3 more tacos than I should though ;). The cherry on top is that the ladies working here are always so sweet and pleasant, and the interior is so welcoming, bright, and homely. It’s a good location and prices are great too, just go...

My family & I ordered pick-up, went in, paid cash, and only realized when we arrived home with the receipt (that they left on the bag by accident- they normally take it off and put it in a pile; pickup orders pay without seeing the receipt ahead of time, a mistake NO ONE should make when ordering from here, we have just been going here for so long we trusted them) they charged us an automatic 10% tip on a pickup, it was an extra $5.00 on an already expensive bill. When we called to inquire about this, we were told they have been adding automatic pickup tips for MONTHS. I have no issue tipping on delivery or when dining in, but this is just outrageous. To the owner- this is an ILLEGAL practice in NY. You do not have it posted where customers can see that you are adding automatic tips to pickups; it is not on your website, on your menus, posted in the restaurant, and when you order pickup online, there is no automatic tip. This is plain sneaky behavior. My family and I have ordered from here, dined in, and picked up food many times over the years; we have recommended your establishment to many people.
