I visited Hongdae Korean Restaurant in Flushing, NY around 3:20 in the morning, and it ended up being one of the best late-night dining experiences I’ve had. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was welcoming and the service was top-notch. Our waiter, Kevin, really stood out — he was attentive, friendly, and had such great energy that made the whole experience even better.

We ordered the combo wings that come with a bottle for $59, and it was absolutely worth it. The wings were crispy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned — definitely a highlight of the night. Pairing it with the bottle made it feel like a complete experience, perfect for late-night eats with friends.

The food came out quickly, but the speed didn’t take away from the quality at all. Everything was fresh, hot, and well-prepared. As a chef, I really appreciate when a kitchen can deliver both speed and quality, especially at such late hours. You can tell they take pride in their food no matter the time of day.

The vibrant atmosphere immediately drew me in, with lively K-pop tunes playing in the background. Cool trendy place with young good looking people. We should have known that the food quality would not be as good for us old fogies and our high standards.

The restaurant has on each table a QR code that customers can use to leave a Google review in return for a free soda. However I did not want the free soda, as I wanted my review to be unbiased.

The pig trotter platter at $28 was about 60% of the size of other places like Cheo God.Zip and Yetnal Tongdak. I believe the restaurant is getting two orders out of a single pig leg as we did not receive the main bone. I'm a toe-lover and we only got 2 of them. The brisket jjampong noodle hotpot at $33 was good and tasty but it had no noodles. We asked for noodles which are normally included in a jjampong and they charge $4 for a side plate of thin udon-style noodles.
