Decided to go in because I had an hour before my train arrived and it was snowing. The food was great, they even gave me an egg souffle on the house. Unfortunately the food was still too hot and I didn't want to take too long because I didn't want to miss my train. So I asked for a takeout bag and ordered a soju so i could have some stuff for my trip to Manhattan. But then when I was walking down the stairs to the lirr the takeout bag broke and everything spilled and it ended up making me miss the train... And the next one was at 4 am, in two hours! All the while it's snowing outside. So I went back to ziggle just to escape the weather and I told them what happened and they had no empathy at all. They told me it was my fault the bag broke, so it's not their problem. I just wanted to stay somewhere inside warm and away from the snow since I missed my train, but they had no sympathy at all. They just told me to please leave since they close at 3. The kicker is I was having a panic attack so I took my anxiety medicine and the waiter had the gall to take half of my pill. Didn't even offer to replace the food and alcohol that spilled due to the flimsy plastic bag that they gave me, even though I left them a nice tip. Disappointing how coldhearted humans can be...Never spending my money here ever again and I encourage everyone else to do the same. Doesn't matter if the food is good, if the workers and the environment is toxic then it's just bad energy you should avoid. Typing this review while waiting for my train in the freezing snow and suffering from frostbite. Some people are just so...
Read moreI'm going this place regularly. I ordered bossam, but it was different from usual, so I asked the waiter if something had changed. The waiter said he didn't know because he had never tried all the food here. I didn't mean to conflict with the food, I just wanted to ask. I was embarrassed to hear him answer if something had changed, but it wasn't a big deal, so I just moved on.
Then, when I was almost done eating, my husband kept saying something was chewing in the sundubu stew, so he asked if it was an egg shell, but he said no so I tried it .
Oh My God, it was incredibly burnt in the Sunbudujjigae. I was amazed at how my husband ate it. He almost ate it all, so I just wanted to go but still, I thought there was a problem with the restaurant that served such food, so I called the waiter again.
I told him to smell it because it was burnt, he said he would bring it to the kitchen and i asked to bring a check. The check was brought, but there was no further mention of the food, so I waited. I ate it all anyway, so I didn't want it to be taken out of the bill or anything like that, I just wanted an apology or another way to say sorry.
After brought the check, they didn't even look at us, and he didn't even make any excuses for the food. I was waiting with a tip of 20% and the billed amount on the bill. After all, I just wanted to get an apology for the burnt food, I think the way they dealt with what they did wrong is wrong.
When you go to this restaurant, think that you won't get an apology even if you...
Read moreI finally made the trek to Ziggle, and it was totally worth it! Prices are reasonable, food was tasty, and service was amazing! While you can walk from the Main Street station, I recommend catching the bus which will drop you right in front of Ziggle. I went with my friend on a Saturday around 7pm, and the restaurant was about half full. The tables are nicely spaced out and there is catchy kpop in the background.
We ordered the seafood pancake ($18.95), mandu soondubu ($13.95), LA galbi ($29.95), and the mul naengmyeon ($13.95). Everything was delicious and reasonably priced. One unique banchan was the fluffy steamed egg, which may be why they are named Ziggle? Another thing I enjoyed was that their mild soondubu was actually mild. It had a nice flavor without making it uncomfortably spicy.
I saw this mentioned in previous reviews, so I want to agree that the manager is what makes Ziggle amazing. This man radiates positive energy, and really shows gratitude toward the customers. He never let our banchan go empty! This is really rare, as I feel like you usually need to feel awkward asking. I will admit that none of the other servers can match his energy, but not many people can be that level of wholesome.
We were interested in trying the dessert, but they had run out. We will definitely be back to snag the lunch specials along with...
