Whenever I'm feeling a little down I tend to pacify with some comfort food. And whenever I'm feeling happy or in a great mood my comfort food of choice is the corner piece carrot cake and a plain coco bread.

And yes both emotions evoke a desire for comfort food😄 Although there's a lot of places I could go to purchase this order because in the Bronx you have ample choices... I only desire

The Kingston bakery located at the corner of White Plains Rd and 226 Street. No matter what you buy your mouth and stomach will have a party. The food is excellent.

The coco bread is sooo warm and chewy. Tell you the truth I usually only get the Coco bread without the patties. Don't get me wrong the patties are excellent but I'm somewhat of a vegan so I just love eating the coco bread by itself with the carrot cake..

Anyway irrespective of what one might like, along with the excellence in food is the excellence in customer service and that is what keeps me going back more than anything else

Actually on Saturday Feb 4 2023 as I was on White Plains road at 10:30am(it was brutally cold 3°).. I decided to get my usual Coco bread and carrot cake.

It's such a pleasure to know that when you go to an establishment you're going to be greeted with a nice smile, great personable attitude and excellence in customer service.

I haven't really met anyone there that I didn't appreciate but I do have my favorites and it definitely is Abby. She has a really young sounding voice and she is so sweet and thoughtful.

Lorraine is also really cool. And both ladies are always calm, cool and collected. Despite the hecticness of ringing out many customers...I have never heard or perceived frustration or impatience.

These are to truly professionals who take customer service to a higher level.

So if you're in the Bronx and you're close to White plains Rd & 226th Street (4000 White Plains Road) don't hesitate to stop by and be delighted not only with the excellence in food but excellence in customer service.

Thanks again ladies and keep up the good work and big up to the...

There’s a lot of social media buzz about this place and many food reviewers have been giving it the “best Jamaican beef patties” title. I think that’s open for debate. The beef patties were good, but I can’t distinguish a huge rating difference between KTB and other West Indian bakeries that have developed loyal followings. I tried the beef patty with coco bread, beef patty by itself, and meatloaf (beef patty filling baked inside a coco bread exterior). Everything for me, on a scale of 1 to 10 is high 8’s up to 9. Good, but not as great as the hype would have you believe. The place is cash only and cop ‘n go. There’s a park up the block where I went to sit down. It was real chilly today, but on a pleasant day it would be nice to eat some coco bread and a patty or two. I enjoyed their coco bread the most, reminded me of being a kid and my mom sending me to West Indian bakery to get fresh baked coco bread. Oddly enough, KTB was closed when I first arrived so I winded up trying a spot down the block. This place only had patties, but I liked the spice level more than KTB and the patty exterior too. KTB had a flakier texture (which some prefer) but I liked the softer feel of the other bakery. If I could combine elements of both bakeries into one patty, that hybrid dream patty would be a 9.5 out...

It's a weekly visit for me, I remind me so much of my childhood. As a child every Saturday my mother an we would go an get fresh bake bread (HOT jus out a di oven). I would remember goin in the store filled with people ordering there bread, my mom holdin me for dear life (lol) so I dont get separated from her. She would get a bread an 3 to 4 bully, sometime I would get to order what I wanted (mi cyan get a bun an cheese an if I forget the PLEASE at the end I would get alittle nuge on my shoulder please). Those days where priceless, an now as a adult I go into Kingston bakery an I relive those days everytime I go into that bakery. The line, the people, placing ur order what its ur turn (one pinch sliced grabbin bag of bully) an every now an then I get me a bun an cheese. Kingston tropical bakery allows me to relive one of my childhood memories every single Saturday an that's one of the reason y I love this place an the next biggest reason is the products r good. Bread eva fresh, bully eva fresh, bun an cheese eva nice (an yuh get a thick slice a cheese) OH how mi cyan figet bout dem pattie an coco bread. UPDATE❗ I've been here several times now and the patty has definitely changed since the very first time eating it. I'm not sure what a people are tasting but its no where close to a authentic Jamaican beef patty. First, the beef is sour and chewy I don't know who's making the beef back there. The crust is not flaky, its tough. The meatloaf is not bad it could just use more beef, the coco bread is pretty decent aswell. The customer service was good. The beef patties was pretty good, I was more impressed with the coco bread it was delicious, the closest to the taste in Jamaica. However meat of loaf was lacking just a little bit but I would definitely go back again.

Kingston Tropical Bakery is the real deal. If you’re from around here, you already know — their patties are unmatched. That crust is flaky, buttery, perfect every time. Seasoned just right, a little spicy but not crazy. You grab one fresh out the oven and it hits different. Coco bread is a must — soft, pillowy, straight up comfort food. Throw a patty inside and boom, you got yourself a whole meal. They move quick too, so even if there’s a line, you’re not waiting long. It’s one of those Bronx staples — no frills, no gimmicks, just good food that always delivers. If you’re in the area and never had a Kingston patty, you’re seriously missing out.
