Great little park, especially if you happen to be a folding kayaker. It was an adventure. I took the subway to 219th Street and walked over with my gear, including my boat. Assembled it and made my way downriver to Cement Plant Park where I took out. There are several portages where you have dams and rapids and the like but they are either obvious or marked. Amazing to see some of the historic buildings like the old mill house along the way and enjoy what looks like wilderness around the Botanical Garden (even though you can frequently hear cars or locals laughing and asking for rides). Most folks will be better off going on a trip with the Bronx River conservation folks who offer lots of free canoeing trips at various points along the river.
