I really wanted to like this place. Was so excited to have a new local option as my go to place for drinks and dinner. Unfortunately I can never imagine wasting another dime here. I gave it 3 tries cause I know it’s new and it takes time to work out the kinks but each time I’ve gone there it got worse
1st time food was really good but service was not good. Owner very apologetic so decided to give it another try cause food was good
2nd time food was eh at best. Calamari was good, tasted fresh just not seasoned at. Seafood pasta was GROSS. Some of seafood was chewy/rubbery and flavor was sickening! For the prices charged none of the ingredients should taste like it came from a can or frozen and overcooked! Service was hands down worst service ever experienced in any restaraunt ever - even White Castle! Drinks were also terrible. Owner was very nice, apologetic for the poor service and explained they were trying out a new bartender and took the drinks off our bill. So we decided we would give it one more try.
3rd try thought service could get any worse - boy we were wrong. Literally had to seat ourselves. No one in front for over 10 mins. Poor bartender apologized and told us to sit wherever we wanted and he would find someone to serve us??Had the strangest, most unprofessional, chaotic waiter. He was all over the place. Talking to himself, brought wrong orders to our table then kept blaming kitchen saying kitchen can’t handle all the orders and that he told owner has to do family style cause kitchen people can’t handle the work. What does that have to do with him bringing wrong food? Guy was nuts. Ordered the pasta with sausage. Sausage was gross looking and tasted strange. Literally looked like crumbled slimy dog food. When we got the check there were food items on bill that weren’t ours and no drinks on bill. We told him it wasn’t our check and he insisted it was!! Then he went back came back with a new check but 1/2 our ordered items weren’t on it and again none of the drinks. And we again told him it was wrong and he said “don’t worry about what’s missing”. The guy clearly had no idea what he was doing. Busboys were RUDE. One came over to clean up table and threw crumbs on floor and all over my shoes. Like WTH never have I seen a busboy clean table by throwing crumbs on floor!! Owner was running around yelling at staff. Bar crowd was super sketchy. Def not a good vibe
Bottom line really bummed this place doesn’t deliver in the food or service department. Could’ve been cool summer hang out. Food menu options are not good. Ingredient quality sucks. No light summer menu choices to just pick on. Food presentation sucks and nothing is seasoned. Best things on menu are the pizzas, the caesar and the avocado salad and the burrata. Drinks are hit or miss. Service is consistently terrible. Bar scene is creepy & sketch man hangs inside and outside in front following and talking to people leaving. Management is non existent or worse has no clue what they are doing.
Only way would try again would be if it was under new management with new staff because current management can’t seem to get it together. Really sucks that have to go back to Long Island for decent meal and service when this place has such a great view for the summer but just can’t...
Read moreA Graduation Celebration to Remember!
We recently hosted our son’s graduation party here, and my husband Rosario and I can’t say enough good things about the experience! Maurizio made this day very special and memorable. We were so grateful for his expertise, recommendations, and above all him staying true to his word! He promised a night to remember and it was that and then some. From start to finish, everything was exceptional. The food was absolutely delicious—every dish was full of flavor( especially the chicken piccata recommended by Tiffany), beautifully presented, and the portions were HUGE! Our guests were raving all night and many took home leftovers. When a Sicilian Nonna takes home leftovers…. enough said!!!
The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, hard working, and genuinely cared about making the moments special. They were extremely patient and kind to us especially with me and my pre-party jitters! They were so accommodating with our requests, helping with everything from setup to special dietary needs. It made the entire planning process stress-free.
And the best part? The price was fantastic for the exceptional quality and quantity we received. This place delivers the full package: good people, amazing food, warm hospitality, great views, and unbeatable value.
Thank you for making our son’s graduation celebration so memorable. We’ll definitely be back—and so will many...
Read moreI was really hoping to find a go to Italian spot in the neigborhood but Maurizio's is not it - YET. Overall experience was good but would have been great if the food was better. The resturant has only been open for a month or so, so its brand new. From a service and atmosphere standpoint it was very good. The decor had an upscal water front vibe with a nice bar while also being family friendly. The staff and ownership was friendly and felt like a place you should come to at least once a month.
Overall the food was served timely but lacked flavor and was under seasoned - my wife who has high blood pressure was thrusting the salt shaker like a maracas. We had 3 pasta dishes, 2 salads and clams oreganato. The linguini vongole pasta was overcooked and you could not find a sliver of garlic. The cream based sauces was thick!, like eating a milkshake. Not usually complaint but the portions were also oversized, the table next to us had tagliatelle funghi and it looked like a soccer ball on a plate.
I'm going to wait a bit and give it another shot and really hope it gets better.
Sorry Sal, it really wanted to like...
