Terrible experience.
Went to Mojito with my wife (we’re senior citizens) after waiting outside the BJK Tennis Center for an hour in sizzling 90 degree heat. The hostesses passed over us multiple times, without so much as acknowledging us, to seat parties of three or more.
Fortunately, a greeter my wife had asked a question to noticed us being repeatedly passed over by the hostesses, and found us a tiny table, sandwiched along a wall on a busy aisle with waiters and patrons flying hither and yon emitting a cacophony of sounds
Our meal was awful. The Yucca fries appetizer presented beautifully, but tasted like yams that had been dehydrated, then microwaved, and then air fried. The bacon, shishito peppers, and Parmesan cheese toppings ($9.50) only marginally improved this dish, which was distinctly unappetizing.
The lobster roll was perhaps the worst I’ve ever had, and I’ve had plenty in New England and NYC. The lobster, though plentiful, was watery and flavorless, with not even a hint of sweetness, and the mayo was scarcely discernible. The bread roll, surprisingly, was delicious.
The best part of the meal was the complimentary cup of water with crushed ice and lemon that was refreshing, cooling, and allowed us to avert heat stroke.
Although our server was attentive and polite, he asked us as we were sitting down, before we had had a chance to look at our menus, if we’d like tortilla chips and guacamole.
