Pizza Chef — Restaurant in New York

It had been forever since I had a slice from Pizza Chef. An institution for me growing up, I remembered it fondly. The C household did not partake in pizza nights but my best friend's family did. We would come by and have a slice and some knots.

Well the joint has gotten bigger. And there are many more options, but you can still get a slice and some knots. Their slice is just as good if not better than what I remember. Its a little more doughy than the average place and I like that. They have a ton of specialty slices and pies. They also offer a hot food bar. I like this option in local pizza places.

Its located in a huge shopping plaza right off the CIP. The place itself is clean with plenty of seating. They also have a TV, so stop having your lunch in the car. Sit and watch the news or listen to the guys behind the counter busting on each other.

Thankfully since the modern version of the C family does a good pizza night occasionally, we will be back to pass on...

Used to be my favorite spot- my son would eat here a few times per week as well as order pies to go. Not sure what happened but the quality of the pizza went downhill. It’s now literally paper thin to the point the structure of the pizza falls apart. Then the cheese gets burnt because there’s no pizza dough its like a paper thin slice of dough with burnt cheese. Going there in person you still may be able to get a decent slice but I stopped ordering home completely because the slices are half the size as the ones in store and the pizza either comes burnt or undercooked. Still- they have the best eggplant slice in the area. Pretty good grandma but the regular slice and white slice have turned into a piece of paper with cheese. Understand food cost went up but they charge more than any other pizzerias in the area. Increased prices but declined quality. Also depending on who makes the pies it’s always different unfortunately. Hope they fix the pizza and go back to...

The regular pies are very small and cant feed 1 adult and 2 children (13y &8y) and it's always burned. Even if I ask not to burn it, they always burn it. I have even spoken to a manager and it's always burned. The Specialty pizzas are good although when ordering by the slice some looks like it's been out all day. The customer service is not the greatest, they definately dont cater to the customers needs. They are a bit independent. A little over priced and I only gave them 3 stars because the specialty pizzas are good and they have a chicken buffalo sandwich that is good. I will not be ordering my plain pizza from them anymore. I'm tired of eating burnt cardboard. Also, they charge a credit card fee of 4% if you pay with a credit card. They do not tell you this ahead of time. I placed a phone order and arrive and got charged a 4% fee. . Another reason they will not get my business. ...
