Earlier this week I was simply a passenger riding shot gun as my friend ran errands in both LI & Queens.
To my surprise our last stop before heading back to the Boogie Down was Sergimmo's. As Yelpers we both remember their presence @ an event we attended summer '22' @ the Queens Farm.
She has been dreaming of their sandwiches since that event and her excitement when we arrived to parking right in front was laughable. We entered to a short wait as the present customers were wrapping up their purchases. My friend placed the orders for her family both a regular menu item and a customized monster for her son. I was totally there for moral support because I couldn't possibly eat another morsel that day.
That is until I started to wonder around the quaint store while we waited. Sergimmo's has so many imported goods it's hard to resist. I almost made it out until I spotted focaccia bread on the counter. I swear I heard the rosemary call my name. I insisted that my friend and I split it and the nice gentleman, Frankie kindly split and re-bagged the bread for us.
Both Frankie and the owner were nice and welcoming. The owner even remembered my friend from her last visit. The focaccia was light and airy with a nice balance of garlic and rosemary. Definitely don't mind traveling back across the bridge to try some of their hot meals.
Just A Note:
If you are looking for something it particular (ie: like strombolis) it's best to go early. On busy days the owner said...
Read moreI was craving a “Lioni’s” type of hero when I was in a rehab center and Sergimmo fit the bill. I ordered delivery through Uber Eats, the food arrived before estimated arrival time.
I ordered the Dapper Don hero, Mozzarella in Carrozza and Italian Sweet Sausage hero - don’t judge me!
The Dapper Don was HUGE with hefty portion of meats - I ate about 25% of the hero and stored the rest away to be eaten the following day. Mozzarella in Carrozza was huge as well and tasted delicious, arguably the best I’ve ever had. The Sweet sausage hero was good as well but not up to par to the other 2 items in the order. The Semolina hero bread used in the Dapper Don and Sausage heroes was fresh and delicious.

Read moreI come here a lot for Ingredients to make pastas. Parmesans Chx and Veal. Great sauces, great cheeses. Really great Chicken cutlets which is why everyone is raving about their heroes/subs. Try making chicken parm with their marinara or bolognese. Get a lb of grated romano to sprinkle on top of it and all your pasta dishes. Get a meatball to put on the cutlet under the sauce. Make a whole tray and use Lots n lots of mozzarella or fontina grated with asiago. Be very generous with the cheese. Chicken Parmesan is probably not authentically Italian but damn is it great when done well. Ugh I hate seeing it in some people's holiday tables with jarred sauce and not even enough cheese to cover the...
