There are few true bagel shops left - what a loss for civilization. Bagels here are huge, soft, and roll-like. Skip it if you want real bagels.
Update (reply to owner): I bought a dozen bagels and it was in the spring. My main complaint was not the size, but the fact that your bagels are similar to the trend we see across NYC the past few years - very few bagel shops are making bagels. Instead, they are opting to make bagel-shaped rolls. I am not convinced these bagels/ rolls are made in the traditional way as they have no hallmarks of a real bagel: crisp blistered outside, soft chewy inside, slight malty flavor, loads of air pockets, etc. Until I see that, I don't consider this a bagel shop, it is merely a bakery. Sorry, but I have to be honest and food comes with a history and we have to stay true to the food we are making. I can only find real bagels in a handful of places anymore, so it might be time to start doing it at home.
Consider my 1-star review to be a challenge for you to reconnect the new generation and non-native NY'ers to traditional bagel making - it will separate your business from the rest of the mediocre competition. Good luck, and I'll be back if you accept...
Read moreI tried this place thanks to my mother choosing it on the app TooGoodToGo and asking me to pick it up for her. I didn't know what to expect as it was my first time trying the app but it was amazing. A mystery bag of 12 bagels which I were all different! The guy behind the counter who helped me today was super friendly and nice. The bagels were amazing. I ate two different flavors shared with my parents without even needing cream cheese or deli meat. Just ate them straight up. Flavors are on point, not too tough, fluffy and got the nice bagel chewiness/bite to it despite it not being piping hot. I'm definitely converted to coming here from now on for fresh bagels! (This is coming from a gal who has tried bagels all over NYC searching for the best bagel.)
Can't say much about ambiance because I was preoccupied with the friendly...
Read moreBagels are fresh. Prices are wrong charged 14.10 for a bakers dozen but in reality charged more than bagels cost. Most a bagel costs single $1. Claim to sell 12 for $14 and give 2 for free. I took 2 stars for this
I took an additional star for the single carry bag they gave me. Had the choice to carry it open with particl falling into it or crumble as best I could and hope it doesn't break.
Besides this staff great store clean
Meant no disrespect just was trying to state that a bakers dozen isn't 12 bagels. Otherwise you would be correct your bag didn't break. However I had to crumble it and hold it. For such a high quality place. I would assume they would know that you don't put bagels in a open ...
