The Meat Up Grill — Restaurant in New York

I was pondering how to rate this place . Will start by saying the food was perfect , one of the best burgers / fries in town in my opinion.  Wound up here after the family wanted burgers and fries and our regular spot ( goodies ) is closed for vacation this week . Ordered a Meat up burger, an OG burger and a Philly Cheese steak and fries with all 3 . Came to $54. 😯 very expensive . Spoiled by paying 7 bucks for  an amazing burger and fries from goodies . I could have took off a few stars for the high prices ? Yeah sure BUT feel like it wouldn't have been fair to the owners knowing that they pay exorbitant rent prices on 116th and the food was just ridiculously great ! Def can't afford to eat here often but will treat the family once in a while ! They have a good thing going and I'm sure if they were located in a different area of Rockaway their prices would be lower.  I'm all for supporting quality local businesses and will surely be going here again . My husband,  who is a picky hard to please eater called me to tell me that the OG burger was phenomenal so there's that . 5 stars all the way ! Great addition to the neighborhood! Any local will know that the rent prices out here are RIDICULOUS and unfortunately menu prices reflect that . Hate seeing 1 star reviews for pricey but quality food . It's out of the business owners control . Would I pay 54 bucks for the same meal again...

First of all, this review is for the chef / owner I caught walking to his car and said “your food is awesome man”.

So as a synopsis, this place is consistent, EVERY TIME . It’s apparent that each and every item they put out is full of themselves on a plate. Staff is ALWAYS friendly, They CARE. It’s fresh every single time . Homemade pickles, succulent coleslaw. Look at the burger , it’s perfectly constructed.

The tsunami burger is my favorite , the combination of flavors between the coleslaw and the bbq sauce are unreal. But while I say that’s my favorite item , I have to tell you I’ve never had a bad meal from here. If you order delivery , your fries will still be crispy so that should tell you something.

They’re a local business that appreciate every order and it’s refreshing. Definitely worth the ride if you’re visiting from Manhattan, lunch for a day…day on the boardwalk , lunch on the beach.

Try the items on their additional menu as well! The codfish crunch is to die for, and their milkshakes should be award winning.

Not only is the food incredible but I spoke with the owner and he truly cares about needs and quality of his diners. I've never been so happy and humbled by the owner of a Rockaway Dining Establishment that truly cares about the food they prepare and the feelings of the customers . The Smash Burger is to die for. I love my meat. The burgers are awesome! The chicken sandwich couldn't be more perfect. Prices are great compared to what is out there these days. Me and my husband order 2x a week. It's literally the perfect burger. Try it. You will not be sorry! I'll offer u sincere apology if you are but I don't think you will need one. Even fries are perfect . I have no affiliation with this pj's e. Don't know owners or workers. We just love love their food. You won't be sorry! 🫶🏼💯

Just ordered the Cob salad with meat. I'm not Sorry. Their plushies are to die for. My husband got the tai chi glazed shrimp salad. Everything is perfect. The Mac and cheese is phenomenal 💯💯💯❤️❤️❤️

Just tried the Taco Salad for first time last week! My new favorite omg! Do it get it love it! Oh with black n white shake.....
