Good Morning,
I would like to tell you about some thing that happened to my wife recently. My wife had decided to purchase Alex and Ani bracelets for all the girls in our family for Christmas. On our way home from Pennsylvania we stopped at the Rockaway Mall to do a little shopping. My wife said that she did not want to buy the bracelets at the Rockaway Mall and would rather give the business to the community. She knew that A Gift of Love located at 223-25 Beach 116th St. carried Alex and Ani merchandise. On Wednesday 11/27/13 she went to A Gift of Love and purchased $375.00 worth of Alex and Ani bracelets. Before she paid she asked one of the employees if there was any type of sale going on or any sale coming up. She was told "no" and proce3eded to purchase the bracelets. Two days later she got an email letting her know that all Alex and Ani merchandise is on sale for 15% off at A Gift of Love. She returned with the bracelets and her receipt and asked if she can get the 15% off. Their answer again was "no". She explained to them that she had asked two days ago if there was a sale coming up and she was told "n"o, now two days later there is a sale. Their response was "sorry about that". She then asked what their return policy was and was told its only store credit. She was so mad that she will never shop at A Gift of Love again. She wasn't even offered any type of compensation, perhaps maybe a free bracelet instead of the 15% off. Nothing! All we are told in Rockaway is to support our local stores. Why should we if we get this kind of treatment. Any other store would have honored the sale and given my wife the 15% off of a $375.00 sale. My wife e-mailed the Gift of Love last week to let them know how upset she was about this experience and has not heard back. Needless to say this is very disappointing for a store in a community that has been through so much. I hope other stores in the community hear about my wife's experience and do not follow in the footsteps of A...
Read moreI was very disappointed with my experience in this store today. When I go to Beach 116th Street and have breakfast at Last Stop with my daughter we like to check out Gift of Love as they have unique things you wouldn't ordinarily find in most stores, its gitchy. As I walked around I did have some items in my hand. I was also in the process of looking at communion items for my granddaughter. Every time I turned around the saleswoman was just a couple of feet away following me which made me feel very uncomfortable as I knew she was watching to see if I was stealing merchandise. While I was picking out some communion items for my granddaughter and a tee shirt, I had to confront the saleswoman very nicely and asked her if she was following me. She told me she worked there and stated she was not following me. Being in a store that small you know when you are being watched. I put everything down told her she can put the merchandise back and I left. When I left she made a remark about me taking my meds which my daughter heard and my daughter told her she should not speak to a customer like that. And to set the record straight you can let your saleswoman know I do not take meds. And I take offense to...
Read moreI don't ever write reviews, but I had to for this one. I went in to look at the kitchen towels because I saw some Christmas towels through the window. As soon as I went in the lady came and asked me if I needed help, which is fine, it's customer service.I told her I'm looking for Christmas hand towels, she then says there's some in the back and while I'm talking to her she pushes my daughters bag off my back because I assume I was bout to know some stuff down. OK cool, now lm heading to the back now to see the rest of the hand towels and she tells the other lady I'm going to the back and when I turn around the lady is in my face. They were basically profiling me in the nicest way they could. Never again!!! I will be talking about my experience on every social media play form as well, just because I've noticed another comment about the same behavior. Just...
