The food here, in my opinion, is the best one in newark.
Update 1/27/23... I placed an order for delivery. It was a large order with 12 chicken wings, 4 eggs rolls, shrimp frice rice, and other items. When the driver came, I gave him my money (with tip) and took my order into my house.
When I took my order out of the bag, I did not receive 12 wings, only five. I called, and they claimed they gave me three bags of chicken wings. I explained that the 3 bags were the 5 chicken wings and 4 egg rolls that were divided into the last two bags. The gentleman on the phone then asks, "Am I sure?" Anyone who orders Chinese food knows the carry out bag isn't that big, so I said yes, I am sure. The gentleman took my number and said he would call back. That was 6:30 something in the evening.
I called back around 710 (since i didn't hear back from them), and the gentleman claimed he spoke to the chef or whomever and stated again that they gave me 3 bags. Again, I stated what my order was and what I had received. I asked since I had already paid for my food, "Will my situation be resolved?" he basically told me no. I said thank you, and even though my one little order won't hurt their business, I won't be ordering from their establishment again and to enjoy the rest of their evening. I didn't even hear what he said before I hung up. Upon aspecting my food, they gave me regular fried rice instead of shrimp and regular egg roll instead of the shrimp I ordered as well. The majority of my order was incorrect.
I get that the restaurant is in an urban community, and I get that from time to time. They probably get scammed a lot. As a business, if you messed up (and he admitted the chef did messed up or whoever bagged the food), you should correct it for the sake of customer and business satisfaction. But I get since it's in a certain neighborhood, I dont think they cared to do so since they already received payment and as much as the food is good (but not as good as the ones in Brooklyn and Manhattan) I won't be giving them anymore of my money. Never had an issue up until this moment, and I'm sure they will continue making money because of the community, so this review could be irrelevant, but I had to state...
Read moreI must say, this place has really gone down hill. They used to make the best pork egg foo young but over the last 3 years it has taken a turn for the worst the flavor is off the onions are way too big nothing tastes the same over there I pray that they get better but if they got rid of the original cook that was there about 4 years ago they have done a wrong thing they need to get that cook back I have not had pork egg foo young from them since I've tried it three times after thinking maybe it was just a bad night it has gone downhill they need to check the cook and cut them onions...
Read moreThe vegetarian options here are surprisingly good. Fresh, well-seasoned, and satisfying without feeling like an afterthought. Definitely worth checking out if you're meat-free or just in the mood for something lighter.I’ve been coming here for a while now and I’ve never been disappointed. The service is always quick and friendly, and the place is clean and welcoming. The food is consistently fresh and flavorful, and you can tell they put care into what they do. Definitely one of my go-to spots when I want something satisfying....
