Communicating with The Weekend Spot about catering my baby shower has been the most unprofessional customer service I’ve encountered. I was introduced to them from a gender reveal where they catered not long before I contacted them. I was emailing catering Director Rachel on scheduling a tasting which I was willing to pay for with the understanding that 15% is credited towards the catering bill. Cool. She said her chef wasn’t available on the days I selected and to provide other days. Once I responded I stopped hearing from Rachel. I followed up again via email a few days later to receive no response once again. Calling them is out of the question because I have been calling and leaving messages to get no response from the very beginning. I even went out of my way to stop by the restaurant during the business hours listed on google not once but twice on a Saturday after communication ceased to see that the gate was down. Before deciding to go with another company I hit them up on Instagram to again receive no response. It is truly a shame that when trying to support a black business I encountered such unprofessional. I was willing to spend over $1000 in catering at the recommendation of someone else. Imagine being pregnant dealing with the stress of planning a baby’s shower and have to deal with this. Everything happens for a reason because I ended up going with Mrs. Tee’s catering where I had a much...
Read moreWhew! I'll try to be kind while still giving my honest feedback. This was the second time I ordered from The weekend spot and I hate that I didn't give that chance to another business. I spent $50 on a whiting plate with rice and cabbage and fried chicken with kale and macaroni. The whiting was ok, seemed to be a bit thinner than I'm used to having. The rice was ok. it didn't seem to be fresh or seasoned well. The cabbage was only boiled with no other seasoning. The kale was ok. The macaroni was murdered. Dry and not cheesy at all. I'm from the south, born and raised, and it seems my folk up North need a lesson on how to make a proper mac and cheese. Now the fried chicken really burned my biscuits! Why are you using old, burnt grease to fry fresh chicken??? Old grease, possibly used to also fry fish, has a smell that permeates through the food you cook in it. I will be reaching out directly to management, but it looks like whenever there is a complaint, the only thing that is said is they missed the mark and hope you'll come back. No inquiry about your experience, no offering to come back and enjoy a "meal on us." or not even an offer to reach out for a personal apology. Not how you handle complaints, which seems to be consistent amongst patrons. I'd love to support you in the future, but you all have your work cut out for you. Please work on...
Read moreThis place is trash …front girl worker had to be about 16 was very slow on the cash register…counting seemed little bit hard for her..she moves beyond slow & can’t handle more than one thing at a time.. I stood in line for 10-15 with only 2 other customers in front of me ! Mind you they called me & stated the food was ready 15 mins prior .
Now lemme get started on the FOOD. STAY AWAY ! It’s giving “I just woke up 1 day & decided to open a restaurant” . I’m really curious as to where the cook got their culinary training from ? On paper a Puerto Rican soul food infusion is an amazing idea but there has to be execution & on that note failed miserably. You have to know how to be able to mix & blend flavors correctly & not rely on sofrito sauce to get you buy. Everything was bland tasteless …the MAC & cheese was beyond horrendous…just noodles dried up cheese & pepper! Salt non existent! Why are there over 60 menu items for such a small establishments. Focus on a few menu items & get those to perfection
Overall I would stay away there much better quality of food in the area. The customer service is what really sealed the deal for me Wendy’s drive through at 1am moves faster then this place & that little big child they have working...
