The cafe is small but can accommodate about 20 to 30 patrons much bigger than your typical cafe....very well maintained and clean ....excellent decorations and memobilia of the past years ...fresh made juice drinks and hot prepared food buffet as well as sandwiches and alla carte dishes to order. I've been here before about six years ago prices were less than but it's the sign of the times....some prices are reasonable some are slightly higher but the quality of food and portions are very good .To start I had for starter a cup of coffee with a (chicken empanada/pastelillo ) cause it was so delicious better than an empanada looked more like a pastelillo flaky crust stuffed with well seasoned shredded chicken ....A+ NEXT I ordered a Cuban sandwich ...WOW...on point delicious bread toasty inside the cheese was melting (nice cheese pull) flavors of the ham, pickles and pork (pernil) what was missing was the mustard not a traditional Cuban sandwich maybe they forgot to put it or maybe it must requested still was delicious....my only concern was the menu had no prices and the menu screen above displayed had no prices just have to take there world on it.i guess we are relying on the cuban honor system like in cuba different prices for different days or different customers ,this was suspicious ....TIP OF ADVISE put prices to make it a ligit establishment and 5 star review...another issue they have is beggers standing outside asking for money and one lady comes asking I paid for coffee and butter roll just to her to go...
Read moreCame to visit the Cafe after 2 years away being Florida because it was my favorite place to eat brought in 4 friends to share my experience with them since they had never been there before and I was embarrassed by the way one of my friends received her food. She ask for bbq rib pieces and yellow rice she complained to the staff that it was dry and hard to eat. The staff walked away without acknowledging or asking what was going on. When we went to the register to pay she was charged 20 dollars for a dish she didn't eat. The customer saw the billed and ask if this was a error and the staff said No, these are our prices. The customer asked but I didn't eat the food can you give me something else to compensate the 20 bill. The staff asked another employee she said No because if she does that the owner would charge the staff out of her pay. I write this review as a one star 🌟 which really should have been a 0. We do not treat customers like that now they have lost 5 customers including me because of this embarrassing moment. Never again I will ever recommend any customer or friends to visit Omar's Cafe. By the way what restaurant has no water to sell...
Read moreI've been coming here since I was 12yrs old. Today I returned after leaving the area for 3 years. I'm heartbroken at how the quality of the food and service has declined. I'm not sure if it's new management, but this is not the Omar's I remember. The place was empty which it never used to be. The food tasted bland which never happened. I didn't see the usual cook, there was a lady at the grill who I've never before seen and who obviously doesn't know how to put some sazón on the food. The staff seems different, the young lady in the front came off as lazy and acted like she didn't want to be there. Overall a complete drop in standards. Unbecoming of "El Rey del Pan con bistec" so sad to have to write this review. One star for my childhood memories I have here. Years ago I would not have had an issue paying high prices for the food but now it's just overpriced for food that's not up to par to...
