So, being this is the only White Castle in that area (Newark/Elizabeth), had to go to that location. Been there a few times and was hesitant on leaving any reviews but yesterday’s poor service brought me to reviewing this location.
Decided to go through the drive-thru thinking it will be quicker than going inside the store - wrong! Long line at the drive-thru. Finally get to the intercom and no greeting so wasn’t sure if the intercom was working. I said “hello” and was asked to “please wait a few”. Literally timed it and almost 7 mins. later, drive-thru associate (young woman) comes back. Start placing my order and had to repeat it slowly and multiple times because she kept repeating the wrong item and then at the end had the audacity to tell me “okay, I hear you!” cause I got a bit louder thinking she’s having a hard time hearing me. Let’s see, if you can hear me, why were you repeating the wrong items?!? Anyways…
Get to pick-up window and more wait time for the food. Not only that, the staff inside were talking about how the customer prior to me was upset about their order and if the customer complained, they (staff) would back each other up. Remember, be careful how and what you say, cause end of the day you’re providing a service to customers and poor customer service can affect the business.
Finally get my order and I had to ask the associate for my soda. She fills up the cup, spills it from overflowing but puts a lid, grabs a straw and just hands it to me. No decency of wiping up the sides or even passing napkins.
Overall, food was semi-okay. Almost felt that a lot of the items were stale and outdated but still being served. Customer service, probably one of the worst till date. Inside and through the drive-thru. Corporate should definitely train these folks on customer service. As far as timing is concerned, slow is an...
Read moreI was looking for a place to avoid waiting in the airport, While awating an arrival. I noticed the white castle and not being from here its not something you dont see everyday. So i decided i would try it. Upon entering glass the separates you from the employees was a bit weird. I ordered my food and it was pretty awkward having to speak up through a hole in the glass, however the staff wasnt unpleasent but they werent smilling. I turned to see a sign that said "20 minute limit" which was an immediate turn off... just felt really rushed. Also, two other female customers we having a back and fouth about how out of place I was there and laughing.. and another lady to my left was talking about how horrible the food she was eating was.. the food came out pretty fast and so I uncomfortably ate. Then i thought i would just hang out in the parking lot for the next half hour in my car. Also a bad idea as I witness a drug deal in my rearview ... if you must go to this particular restuarant i would suggest drive thru or not at all. The whole place feels dry...

I happened to be in New York/New Jersey area last week.So of course I had to stop at the castle, for the first time first in 20 years. The food was delicious and hot so yes I was nostalgic maybe that's why the food was so good because I hadn't had it in a long time.So I made sure to get myself some once I was back into town. The area wasn't the greatest that the store was in the middle of, but the store itself wasn't too shabby 10-15 .I truly love white castle I was born in Puerto Rico yet grew up in NewYork. This particular white castle had a long drive thru line at 9pm, but the wait wasn't really that long. I've experienced a lot worse. Again the food was hot, fresh and awesome!!. There is really no need to describe the burgers and fries if you know what I mean.
