Ideal — Restaurant in Newark

I’ve been here some years ago . It was a very pleasant experience . This morning around 8:30 I entered this establishment. It was clean and welcoming, there was only one person eating inside . The server Kerstin (apologies if I spelled it wrong) immediately greeted my wife and I and gave us two menus. As I began to order she assisted me and told me to order the combo instead of ordering everything separately. Fast forward: Food comes out in a brown bag, we pay and leave . Now normally I would check my food on the spot but I was so tired and had the bare minimum of energy. I get home and had to change the food from the container that it was served in , my food was thrown on top of each other, the eggs were Brown, hash browns tasted like Grease and was very soggy, now to this the beef bacon . I’ve never seen or been served what tastes like plastic beef bacon . It was very hard, dry and stiff. My coffee was burnt like burnt coffee beans. I was highly disappointed and disgusted that not only would they serve someone food like that, but the amount love and effort put into my breakfast was very slim to none ! I will not...

UPDATE (10/24/24) my girl and I each ordered a BLT. One w/soft bacon, and one crispy. To no one’s surprise, The kitchen personnel/chef proceeded to make two different BLTs to absolute Perfection! The accompanying fries were also incredible. This is clearly the hallmark Of people that care about what they’re doing and know what they’re doing. Thanks to Biden/Harris we were unable to offer a gratuity that was appropriate for this extremely high level of service. I know we came in at around 20% on the tip and it was still less than what we’d like to have offered compared to the service received.

This is simply a GREAT diner, GREAT staff! GREAT food! NICE BAR.... Even the regular crowd is GREAT! Just be polite, keep yourself correct and you'll have a GREAT time! THIS IS EXACTLY THE Neighborhood feel that those of my generation sorely miss and is becoming even more and more rare

Lovely place nice worker good food I really like the employees there Very friendly. Like a family .nice place to chill after work. They have a place to play pool and a cozy bar in the back. It's really a best kept secret I kinda hate to give it away but it my job to share this info with the public.the menu is huge the chefs are great. They host a veriaty of different people blue collar as well as families and others even if you're alone the staff makes you feel welcomed .if you just need a little spot to sit and think no one is pushing you out the door.seniors stop in their always greet you with a smile and are glad to see you.stop by and have a cup of coffee it's across the street from the DMV.
