Characters on 76 — Restaurant in Newberry

-I think there has been a mistake, how did a restaurant this nice end up in Newberry?-

I'm a fan of fine dining, I used to go many places in Greenville that were high end and fancy. My visit to Characters on 76 was a nice surprise today, because it brought me back to when I used to visit high end establishments. My mind is blown and all expectations are out the window because they truly went above and beyond.

I'll start off with the service. We were promptly seated and drinks were delivered. The food came out faster than some fast food spots around here. The presentation was exquisite and I was left feeling full and satisfied.

The food itself is delicious, I had the Ceasar Salad and my partner had the cheese bread. We also ordered pizzas and the Apple Pie Calzone. The ceasar salad was of the best salads I have both seen and tasted. The cheese bread was unique and very well made. The pizzas were assembled neatly and all requests were fulfilled. All in all, this is a place I would like to eat at more frequently!

Finally, the price. Considering the quality of the service and food, the price I feel matches very well. It is more expensive than some places around, but you certainly get what you pay for. Our total was around 80$ for 2 pizzas, salad, cheese bread, drinks, and a calzone - all of which will feed us for at least a week!

The experience is complete with famous caricatures and table microphone centerpieces. Everything is very clean and tidy, with enough uniformity to bring it all together into a cohesive environment.

I have been meaning to go here to check things out, my only regret is that it was not sooner! I am going to recommend to everyone: This is a MUST visit...

Amazing lunch today!! The food at Characters 76 was absolutely fantastic!! The owner was very friendly & hospitable. Pizza was excellent! My whole family loved the pizza, and they keep talking about it. The restaurant is tastefully decorated, very clean, and has many spacious, beautiful wood booths and tables! The menu has a lot of options to choose from, even GF pizza which surprised me! It was the best GF pizza I have ever had! Prices are very reasonable and portions were large. The waitress was very sweet and attentive!! The chefs did an amazing job! I can’t say enough great things about this place!! It’s just what Newberry needs!! TL;DR Good food, great value, friendly staff. Worth trying. This was our first time here. We went with a Detroit style pizza. I'm from Detroit and, while it's not Buddy's, it's still pretty good pizza. Jeff, the owner/manager was very welcoming and helpful. They have only been open for 3 months so don't be scared off by the lack of cars in the parking lot. It's clear that they are trying to deliver a good value; one $20 pizza was enough for both of us with one piece left over. The toppings were a little light, IMO.
