Wish I could give zero stars but I can't. Went in for lunch because it's been my boyfriends favorite restaurant for years and I had the worst experience. I ordered a strawberry margarita.. it tasted like they used bloody Mary mix and they wanted to insist it was strawberry. Until I told them "this doesn't taste anything like strawberries it tastes like tomato paste. Then I ordered 2 chicken enchiladas he gave me beef. My boyfriends sizzles dinner wasn't sizzling which he found very disappointing because he wanted me to see it. Then when he got over it and decided it happens. 3 orders came out sizzling and he got upset again. We decided to move past it and order some fried ice cream which is my favorite. But it was horrible it wasn't even fried it was ice cream with stale cereal crushed up and stuck on it. It tasted awful. So when we told the waiter we didn't want it and out of everything that went wrong it was the only thing we asked to have removed from our bill. He said he was getting the manager so we said that's fine. We decided to voice our complaints about the meal to him since he was coming over anyway. But we only wanted the ice cream removed. We told him that we didn't like the ice cream he asked why i said we didn't enjoy it it wasn't good. He then asked me 3 more times before I finally told him we "like I said we don't like it, it tasted like stale cereal and we do not want it." He accused us of not wanting to pay our bill. He was rude and condescending. I work in the food industry and this is not how you treat you're guest. But that may just be because I work at a classy restaurant meanwhile this one is trashy ran down and the customer service SUCKS. Management readjustment is my biggest advice. I won't ever come back to this place. And its honestly because of the manager everything else I would of absolutely looked past everything until he accused my boyfriend and I of not wanting to pay our...
Read moreLet me taco 'bout a place that's nacho average restaurant. It's El Pablano in Newberry, SC, and it's the whole enchilada of dining experiences! From the moment you salsa through the door, you're greeted with a fiesta of flavors that'll make you say "Holy Guacamole!"
The service? Faster than a speeding bullet... if that bullet was carrying a tray of sizzling fajitas. The staff are so kind and welcoming, they must be angels in disguise because they sure know how to serve up heaven on a plate. And talk about cozy – the atmosphere is like a warm hug from your abuela, with decor that's cooler than the other side of the pillow.
Now, let's taco 'bout the food. It's like they've got a direct line to the taste gods. The salsa is so fresh, you'd think the tomatoes were plucked from the garden of Eden. And the chips? So light and crispy, I bet they could float away if you don't grab 'em quick!
I ordered the "Taco Supreme Dad Joke Special," and let me tell you, it was no joke. The tacos were stuffed like a piñata at a birthday bash, and the cheese? It was like a cheesy joke – it just kept on coming. The rice and beans? They were the perfect sidekicks, like Batman and Robin, but tastier.
And the portions? You'll need a map to navigate through all that deliciousness. It's like they think everyone's stomach is as big as their heart – and trust me, their hearts are as big as Texas.
In conclusion, if you're looking for a place that's got more kick than a donkey on a hot day, head on over to El Pablano. It's a place where every meal is a fiesta, and every bite is a celebration. Five stars? More like five sombreros! So next time you're in Newberry, make sure to spice up your life with a visit to El Pablano. And remember, if life gives you limes, just add them to your taco and enjoy the...
Read moreI am a local of this area and have been my entire life. There are very few, nice restaurants with decent prices. This was one of them...until I had a recent experience. Me and my fiance eat here ALL the time. We had an incident with the food one night where it was awful. Soured. Did not order anything else, paid, and left. The manager apologized. We never really had problems before until one night after that. Our food, again, tasted sour and wanted to let the manager know. First off, the waitress had a major attitude, secondly, when the manager came he blamed US for the problem. He took a phone call the middle of me talking, said that we must be broke since he is now out of money, if we were broke then why were we eating there (trust me, money was far from the problem that night), and told us that the next time we ordered (our usual) then he would deny our order. Talking to us like we were broke children. Since he was so rude and disrespectful we offered to pay for our meal (considering it was about money to him) and leave but he said no that he'll get it (And what I said before about him denying us next time). I used to love that place but, I am still in shock about how he acted as a manager and blamed us for everything. It may be a decent place for visitors to eat, but don't be a local and voice it when you know your food is going to give you food poisoning. The manager will chew you out...
