We arrived later than planned due to the timing of a play we attended, but a staff member who happened to be outside was very accommodating and understanding about our late arrival. That first impression was great. The atmosphere inside was cute and very charming. Since it was later in the evening and not too busy, I expected quicker service, but it was surprisingly slow. We started with calamari, which was excellent, and stuffed mushrooms. Unfortunately, the mushrooms were undercooked and tasted raw, though the stuffing itself was flavorful. For dinner, I ordered steak frites but substituted mashed potatoes for the fries. The dish also came with yellow summer squash. The steak was very bland and lacked any seasoning—I had to ask for steak sauce just to add some flavor. The vegetables were also overcooked. My husband ordered the mushroom ravioli, but it was completely buried under a mountain of mushrooms, making it difficult to even see the ravioli. Overall, the experience was disappointing. While there were some highlights, like the calamari and the staff’s kindness, the food itself fell short. I might consider giving the restaurant another chance, but this visit left me...

There was a live music duo inside that we were able to enjoy when they propped open the door to the patio. I’m having a hard time coming up with adjectives for the food. It was AMAZING! We ordered the maple bourbon wings that were so crispy and fresh…the whole table agreed they were the best wings we had ever eaten. The special appetizer of crab stuffed mushrooms were also the best ever. Who knew that a a little balsamic reduction could elevate a stuffed mushroom to out of this world good? The mushroom ravioli was fresh, covered in a buttery cream sauce and could not have been any better. The boys had delicious pizza off the children’s menu. Dessert was a fruit cobbler made by the bartender. I would return just for the cobbler! I only visit Vermont for one week a year. I’ll save at least two dinner nights next year for...

Had the cease salad (a bit dry), the Fried calamari (delicious), the pork shank (EXQUISITE) and a deliciously prepared dry gin martini. Stop by on your next trip around...
