We ordered delivery for 22nd Street Pizza (which I had been wanting to try for a while), but I called the restaurant directly to discuss my order after placing online because they don't allow modifications or notes for online orders. It's always so surprising to me how unhelpful and rude some restaurants are when using "a third party platform" for delivery, especially when it's the restaurant itself that chooses which delivery platforms they want to use if any. For those who don't use a delivery service - that the restaurant selects - there are a few things that need to be understood. First, the customer pays at least 15% higher prices on Every. Single. Item. Ordered. And then also PAYS for Delivery, Service Fees, and Tip - among other various incurred fees passed on by the restaurant AND the delivery platform company. So as the customer, I'm already starting out paying a LOT of extra money just to get food WITH delivery from a specific restaurant. But all that is wasted when you're not even appreciated as a customer ordering from this restaurant. I got told "No" for the few modifications that I needed, and spoke to 2 different people - 1 being the Manager, who just liked saying No without even listening to my questions/requests, and being unhelpful, albeit 'friendly'. I was asking to add/replace items in the salad ordered for olives and garbanzo beans. I also had to barter and negotiate just to get Extra Pepperoni on our Medium Pizza (for example I paid for Pepperoni and black olives on the pizza, but gave up the black olives to cover the cost of extra pepperoni). At the end of a 15min phone call to negotiate a few modifications to my order - I ended up paying $1.03 extra on my credit card over the phone (in addtion to the money I already spent on my online order). I don't mind paying extra for modifications, that's easily understood - and expected. But I was treated like my business and money did not matter to 22nd Street Pizza. Very Sad. And the food - VERY UMIMPRESSIVE. The pizza was nothing special, and had A LOT of crust. Their Marinara is delicious though. It was a side for the Garlic Bread with cheese, and for the Breadsticks. Both of which were bland. I opened the box for the Garlic Bread with cheese and laughed that it took up 1/4 of the inside of a SMALL pizza box. The Caesar salad was crisp - so that was nice. Their dressings are delicious. 22nd Street Pizza made such a bad, memorable impression on me that I will not be ordering from them again, and inspired me to write this review - which I don't usually do (especially unfavorable ones because everyone can have a off day sometime). I'll HAPPILY give my hard-earned money to another restaurant next time that will hopefully appreciate that I wanted to order from them so much I am willing to pay extra to a "Third party platform" just to...
Read moreFirst visit. Nice friendly staff. No wait and had a decent seating looking out. Had half meat lovers and half Margherita and a Greek salad. Pizza was surprisingly pretty good. Salad was ok. I went on the 22nd of Sept and asked if their promo 22% off discount was included but disappointed it was only applied to the salad and not the pizza. Their mistake. The sign said 22% off all food and drinks on the 22nd of each month. Too bad. I wanted to like this local joint but bummed they didn't honor their word 😔. 3...
Read moreI'm writing this as I eat that's how good this place is. First off they have some fresh cucumber water available for customers. The smell of the pizza is enticing as heck. We ordered the medium pesto pizza and it was SOOOOO good. It's not all nasty and heavy feeling. It's a delicious refreshing pizza perfect for the beach. The large sodas are actually large. It was an amazing experience and the staff is awesome. All in all what are you waiting for? Just sit and have...
