After spending the day on Catalina Island my husband and I did a quick search for dinner and Casa Damí popped up. The menu caught our attention because we both love Spanish food. We figured it was a Spanish restaurant (it is not). We arrived with no reservation and no expectations. We we're fortunate to be given a spot at the bar , but before we were sat down they found out we were celebrating our 18th wedding anniversary. They pulled out Champagne glasses and served us some sparkling rosé (ferrari, really good).
At first I was hoping a table would open up, but I'm so glad we ended up having our dinner at the bar because every single employee went above and beyond to create a great experience. We felt very well taken care of. Besides the amazing service and welcoming atmosphere (also great music); let's move on to the amazing food!
As I mentioned we thought it was a Spanish restaurant, but I will call it an eclectic European experience in Newport beach that transports you. The owner is Italian, the wine list has no Spanish wines( they should consider some good cava like Gramona or Juve y Camps) but they have a great selection of Italian and French wines which we enjoyed. The food is Spanish tapas with a twist. The chef is Filipino and he is amazing( our compliments to the chef ) We may have ordered one of each on the menu. Well worth it!
We started with the jamon iberico (it was served at the proper temperature and it melts in your mouth, I wanted more) We had the patatas bravas, croquetas, the truffle bikini, pan con tomate...The star was the tuna! So so good I can't even describe it. The gambas we're also delicious and the sauce they are served with is devine. My husband enjoyed the creme brulee and I enjoyed the olive oil cake with a yummy espresso martini.
Thank you for creating a memorable...
Read moreIf you're looking for a place that delivers on every front — food, atmosphere, service, and vibe — Casa Dami is it. I had high expectations going in, and somehow they were completely exceeded.
Let’s start with the highlight: the Casa Daddy Burger. Yes, it’s on their secret menu, and yes, it’s worth asking for. Juicy, flavorful, perfectly balanced with just the right amount of sauce and crunch — honestly, one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. It’s gourmet comfort food at its finest, and I still think about it days later.
But the burger is just the beginning. The whole experience at Casa Dami is seamless and welcoming. The staff are not only professional, but genuinely kind and passionate about what they do. They made us feel right at home, offering thoughtful recommendations and checking in at just the right moments.
The location is beautiful — whether you're seated indoors with their cozy, stylish decor or enjoying the atmosphere outside, there’s a calm, laid-back energy that makes you want to linger. It’s clear that attention has been paid to every detail, from the lighting to the playlist.
Casa Dami has that rare magic where you can tell the people behind it really care — about the food, the service, and the guests. I’ll definitely be back — and I’ll absolutely be ordering the Casa Daddy Burger again.

Read moreRefreshingly hip new spot with the best atmosphere and unique vibe. The decor inside was sharp, super cozy and unique. With the music the mood was fun and energetic - I want this playlist. I could see this being the best patio spot in NP this summer. Excellent wine list and heavy representation of European choices - happy to see. This is tapas style small plates so don’t expect a big portion of anything to satisfy you big eaters like Dad. The menu felt absent of sides and carbs. I loved the giant with the shell shrimp and Dami salad. I’d order those just for myself next time. Then we ordered 3 of the four desserts. The affogato was my favorite - with two hefty scoops of vanilla. The cake and fondue were nice bites but not as memorable. Cake was the largest portioned desserts. The bar was pretty busy but two side tables next to us were empty a good part of the night. Patio was packed but still was a cold night for me in May. No alcohol menu - will round out bar choices once that’s secured. We paid about $80 pp for the meal with wine and desserts for 4 ladies. Going rate for the beach. Server Isabella was super attentive & friendly despite being slammed when we arrived. Will update again after second visit. Do make...
