Can’t say enough good about my experience eating here! A few days before I ordered my meal, my wife and kids ate at Forte and loved it. I decided to give it a try as a result, and was NOT disappointed! A+ for food. The owner, AJ, uses only fresh ingredients and makes every order fresh from scratch. In fact, the kabob that I ordered was taken from a marinade, individually prepared and grilled to order. Both the chicken kabob and lamb gyro were extremely tender and perfectly seasoned. From a service standpoint, AJ gave me a sample of the pita bread and hummus. He even sent me with a variety of lemons indigenous to his native country. He was extremely courteous and respectful. Oof. This was hands down one of the worst fish and chips meals I’ve had.

The “fish” barely had any actual fish in it — mostly batter, no seasoning, and it tasted like something frozen was pulled out, dunked in a fryer, and served. For $14, I expected at least something fresh or flavorful. When I asked for a replacement (since this dish was recommended), it came back just as bad.

But worse than the food was the customer service. The atmosphere felt cold and disinterested. No greeting, no warmth — just a flat energy that made me want to leave immediately.

The owner is very nice and friendly until you have an issue with an online order. I ordered Friday night around 9:20 (according to their google hours they close at 10) when I got there at 9:30 the store was completely dark inside and closed. For some odd reason their online service allows you to place an order and even charges your card although they’re closed the whole time. Of course I call and ask the owner how I can go about this since they charged my account and I never got a refund even days later.
