Wanted to try shorebird for a while! Came here for brunch with a baby during Sunday is a mistake. We parked at Spaghetti factory valet parking for $10. According to the valet guy, shorebird has no parking (not sure if that's true or not). We made a reservation ahead of time, luckily we got to seat very quickly.
We ordered a lot of stuff to share.
The oysters are fresh and very tasty. The deviled eggs are overpowering with too much going on, and the dish name is so ironic overstuffed bacon & eggs. LoL. I wanted a puff pastry soup so badly since it is really rarely to find, we ordered shrimp bisque encroute to try. The pastry has great texture and flavors, shrimp soup tastes kinda hard to describe. I don't want a second spoon of the soup but I really like the puff pastry. Sticky ribs appetizers are so tasty, the meat fell off the bones and delicious flavors. Steak & eggs are medium rare with great flavors. The ricotta pancakes are very fluffy & yummy!
Overall, I would like to come back to try other dishes. However, Sunday service was really horrible. With a tired crying baby, we wanted to leave the restaurant ASAP. We can't find our server anywhere, we finally waved to the host. She said " I'm not your server". Since we can't find our server, we had to keep bothering another server. At the end, he was very swamped that he started to not wanting to help either. Well, if a restaurant has these much crowds. Maybe you need to hire more people, if I don't have a baby. I'll probably walk around to find someone to help. For some reason, it was so difficult to spot a server in the whole restaurant especially our server. Not sure if I should come back for a second time if this is what we paid for $150+ brunch experience.

Their "take" on shrimp bisque is some watery red substance with a few grey shriveled shrimp floating in it, uneatable and disgraceful. Fish and chips - very sad looking and tasting, a heavily breaded cod that was defrosted in a rush... Risotto had a funny smell and flavor, deserts are pathetic. Steak taco that my husband ordered was surprisingly ok (the only dish they didn't ruin since it was just a grilled meat, no special preparation thankfully) and oysters seemed ok for the same reason, but tiny. Cocktails, all 5 of them, were missing liquor - never worse. Desert menu is so pathetic - we ordered what they called a "key lime pie" for 5 ppl to share just to have a bday cake and couldn't finish it. The service is as bad as the food - our waiter forgot al 3 appetizers we ordered and forgot one of 2 soup orders. I am glad he forgot the appetizers considering how bad everything else was, I only wish we didn't remind him about the second soup which we could not eat. I had to ask the waiter him to bring water after sitting with an empty glass for an hour. He only had 3 tables to serve but did a terrible job with all three, hiding most of the time. It looks like a restaurant from the outside but the food isn't eatable, the drinks are not drinkable and the service is not existent. Why did they even bother... Stay away please! don't waste your money and your time and most importantly, do not let them ruin your special occasion as they ruined mine. Shame on them! Read moreTerrible experience - I reached out to the management team both via email and facebook to make it right but NO response :(. I brought my wife for our anniversary dinner and it was the worst service I have had in years. First we were seated outside and sat for 15-20 minutes before anyone even talked to us. Another server noticed something was wrong with our wait time and came from his table to say "here is some water, if no one decides to serve you...I will serve you". That already put the whole night in a bad mood and we were deciding if we wanted to leave or not at that point. After watching some servers talk, we saw someone take our table where we ordered food and drinks together because we had been sitting for so long.
We asked for the heater turned on and he rolled one over and "turned it on". Well it didn't have any propane in it so we sat there again for another 15 minutes before finding someone in a black shirt (not our server) to help us. After that - someone who wasn't our server brought us our food and it didn't even have the sides we ordered. To finish off how disappointed we were, he never even came back to check on us... We saw him serving multiple tables inside that whole time. We wanted to order more drinks and get our sides and just decided to say screw it and finish up. When he came back I let him know that we had not seen him the whole dinner so just go ahead and grab our bill because we wanted to leave. The worst part is the fact that they aren't willing to even respond and make things right as a new restaurant.
