12/13/17 4:30pm Not the best hibachi I've had but when I crave hibachi, Koizumi is there. Went there today after work. Really looking forward to my craving. I walk in the door and greet the girl at the counter. After I speak my order she looks at me and points down and then to the door. Confused and thinks this girl may be deaf, I say nothing but look confused. She then, very condescendingly says, "for hear or to go." I answer to go. Because I'm thrown off, I forget to request no mushrooms and ask if I can place order without mushrooms. The girl has run my card, grabs the receipt and starts writing the change on it and is clearly disturbed, shaking her head back and forth. Clearly condescendingly. I'm not one to make a scene but my blood is boiling. So I grab my credit card and say, "forget it!", and leave to eat somewhere else. While eating somewhere else, I check my credit card statement online and notice that my card has been charged for the meal at Koizumi. I go back to Koizumi and ask for my money back. The girl can get in touch with the owner to reverse the charges. Again I can't make a scene because it's not me. But I'm clearly aggravated. Finally the girl gives me cash back and has shorted me. It's just four cents but it's the principal. I think I have set foot in Koizumi for the last time. I'm the president of my HOA which serves 187 houses in our neighborhood, just down the road from Koizumi. I'm sure in our annual meeting this month I will mention my horrible experience. Read moreI have eaten at this restaurant for years. The service has always been NOT that good but i like the vegetables and the steak and shrimp meal. However, last friday night on 12/316 i ordered my usual steak and shrimp meal and came and picked it up. I should've double checked the meal but i've never experienced a problem of getting the wrong food. Well i got home 5 minutes away and then realized i had gotten only chicken instead of steak with shrimp. I immediately tried calling and the line was busy for about 15 minutes. I would've went back to Koizumi and gotten the steak and shrimp but it was pouring and all of York county was under tornado warnings. Finally, i got thru and the young lady said the manager would call me back. After 15 minutes i decided to eat the carrots and something else for dinner. The manager NEVER called me at all, so on 12/6/16 i called back and was gonna get another shrimp with dinner meal. However no manager on duty and said i'd have to speak to him. So today 12/7/16 i decided to stop by and talk to the manager. Still NO Manager on site and has NEVER called me back.The girl at the counter told me the managers name Willy but wouldn't give me his no. or tell me the other restaurant he owns in Rock Hill so i could speak with him. I'm sure his other restaurant is ran the same way!!!! Awful Customer Service!!!! And if Willy ever decides to call me i will welcome his call. And i still have the awful spongy chicken...
Read moreLet me start first by saying this place surprised me. I was thinking fast food Asian with the expectation of iffy quality. This was definitely not the case. Think fast food hibachi grill. I thought all egg rolls were created equal. Well they are not. This was the best egg roll I have ever had! The rest of my meal was also way beyond my initial expectations. I ordered steak and chicken and it had fried rice, carrots, and mushrooms on the side. Being that I don't like mushrooms I asked to keep those off and by suggestion of the cashier I was offered broccoli instead. Another surprise to me, I didn't expect a substitution so I didn't ask. It was nice that he offered. I really enjoyed my meal!
Now onto the atmosphere, cleanliness, and customer service. When you walk in everything was very clean. I also used the restroom which was extremely well taken care of for a fast food restaurant! It has a good amount of tables to sit at which is rare for counter order Asian places. Lastly the man taking our order was well spoken and very attentive. I mentioned above how he offered substitutions and he came and checked on us halfway through. Another surprise considering most of these places seem to want you out the door asap!
