China Express — Restaurant in Newton

The first time we ate at this place, it was amazing. Our second trip was not very good, and we had to wait 45 minutes. The owner was very nice. She gave us a free order of dumplings.

Our third trip is what did us in. We called in our order ahead of time, after being told they were too busy to deliver we went to pick it up. They said it would be ready in 30 min. This was at 650. At 8 our food still wasn't ready and we had been sitting there waiting for over 40 minutes. We already paid for our food so we asked for a refund. The owner told us she would give us our dumplings for free if we would wait another 5 minutes. 20 minutes later, the good was ready. The same owner told realized the dumplings weren't on the receipt and told us we had to pay for it. We told her she said we could have it for free. She said she meant the $1.50 egg roll. Bad service! I called in an order chicken wing platter & teriyaki chicken & 1 egg roll and I asked how long was the wait she told me 30 minutes and I get their after the 30 minutes and I still had to wait she comes out and tells me she only has 2 chicken wings if I want another egg roll or give money back for the chicken wing she didn't give me I said another eggroll was ok then she comes out saying I have a chicken wing but needs to fry a little more couple more minutes then she shows me my other platter teriyaki chicken and it had mushrooms when I specifically told her I didn't want mushrooms she told me okay I'll take them out and then said its cooking couple minutes which got me thinking is she really going to take them out with her fingers 😷🤢 I was extremely mad and just asked for a refund because its ridiculous the time I had to wait....

The food is not good, it had very little flavor and small portion size of meat. When we first came in, the older lady behind the counter was friendly and helpful. While waiting 45 minutes for our food, I sat my infant son on the table in front of me as there are no high chairs. The older lady walked over to our table yelling at us to not let my son hold the salt shaker as it is not “hygienic” .. If you don’t want people holding the salt shaker then why have them out?… She grabbed the salt and the rest of the condiments and disinfected them. My son started to cry because we had been waiting so long, she then proceeds to offer him candy for which I told her absolutely not.. I said he is a baby and she continued to harass me over the candy telling me it is just a lollipop. Just very disrespectful and rude way to run a business. I would not...
