The first time I ordered a carnitas quesadilla here, it was horrible and I wasn't sure I'd ever return. The carnitas dripped puddles of grease like I've never seen before anywhere and the meat was tough and dry. It's as if it was completely overcooked or old leftovers and they scooped up all the fat and oil from the container. It was inedible.
I returned months later and gave them a second try. I got the Fabulous Fajita Burrito with carnitas this time. It was much better, but I think it could have been layered better. The rice and beans were mostly throughout, but other than that, the first few bites were all of the fajitas, then all of the carnitas, then all guacamole and sour cream towards the last third, and finally all the salsa in the other end. I understand that it's never going to be perfect, especially when the workers are able to make it so quickly, but it was much too partitioned.
The food is average; it is nothing great, but nothing terrible either, if I ignore my quesadilla experience, which I hope does not happen again. You likely won't leave disappointed, but there are taquerias around the area that provide more standout options, while offering lower prices at the same time. This place appears to be local, so it might be more challenging for them, and I hope they can improve because the staff is nice. This place just wasn't for me.
The tables and seats were a bit dirty and sticky. Other than the cleanliness, the dining area is colorful and although there are only a few tables, it was spacious.
If I ever try this place again, I would love to be able to continue raising the rating from my first zero star experience and see this...
Read moreI came here about a week ago and have a few things to share. First, to my disappointment, they do not serve any crispy shell tacos. As I wanted "crunchy", I ordered the nachos, although admittedly going in I was not thrilled by the description: chips, guac, corn, pickled onions, sour cream and jalapenos with choice of meat. The based price being $14.50; with beef add (btw, you cannot get ground beef, only steak) they upcharge you another I think $3.50 or close to that so you now are paying $17.50 for a inexpensive items, i.e, chips and the other items noted. But, I was hungry so got it. Although the creative attempt to redefine nachos is there, I found it overall to be unsatifying. The pickled onion I ended up taking off and not eating, too much corn, leaving mostly chips sauces and steak. Also, when I asked for accompanying salsa for dipping sauce they said they did not provide that, but put the tomato on the chips. Bummer. I can't say it was bad, but certainly not my definition of nachos (beef, cheese, chips, black olives, beans, and a side of salsa and/or guac and sour cream) and overpriced. Again, my choice to try but...
Read moreThe sorriest restaurant that I've been to in so long, so bad that I'm even writing a review in the first place. First of all, why are we charging +85 cents for almost every single topping worth getting? I can name dozens of similar restaurants in the immediate area that don't do this, one of which being Chipotle. Corn at an extra 85 cents? Absolute joke. Second of all, that must've been the most insane service experience I've had. Not only was the staff rude as all hell, but the guy making my burrito recommended things without specifying that they would cost more. My supposed 10.75 burrito hit a whopping 17-18 after all was said and done, including the pickled onions that I didn't want that he added anyways. And the price isn't even the worst part- the food itself was straight up just bad. I've never minded paying a good chunk for a good meal, and I usually don't feel bad enough about a place to write this, but I refuse to let anyone spend this much money on a place this mid. In an area with so many great options, this was this biggest...
