I recently had the pleasure of visiting this hidden gem tucked away in the heart of the city, and I must say, it was an experience that left me utterly captivated. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was transported to a bygone era, a time of elegance, sophistication, and culinary delights. Allow me to share my delightful journey at this charming establishment.
The first thing that caught my attention was the enchanting kitchen atmosphere. It exuded a nostalgic aura, taking me back to the days of grand dining halls and lavish banquets. The attention to detail was impeccable, with vintage decor, elegant chandeliers casting a soft glow, and beautifully set tables that evoked a sense of timeless elegance. The lady owner's touch was evident in every corner, creating a warm and inviting ambiance that was both cozy and refined.
The menu, oh, the menu! It was a culinary masterpiece, offering a selection of Russian fare that was truly a feast for the senses. Each dish was meticulously crafted, showcasing the rich flavors and traditional techniques of Russian cuisine. From the hearty borscht and tender beef stroganoff to the delicate pelmeni and indulgent caviar, every bite was a revelation. The infusion of vodka with various flavors added a unique twist to the dining experience, providing a perfect complement to the sumptuous dishes.
To further elevate the atmosphere, a talented pianist graced the establishment with their melodic tunes. The classical music filled the air, intertwining with the clinking of glasses and the laughter of delighted patrons, creating an atmosphere of enchantment and refinement. It was a true symphony of culinary delights and soul-stirring melodies.
But what truly sets this establishment apart is the personal touch of the lady owner. Her passion for hospitality and her commitment to creating an unforgettable experience for her guests shone through in every aspect of the evening. She effortlessly made everyone feel like a welcomed guest in her own home, ensuring that every need was met with grace and warmth.
In conclusion, my visit to this establishment was nothing short of magical. The kitchen atmosphere, with its nostalgic charm and elegant setting, took me on a journey back in time. The Russian fare, infused vodkas, and live piano music added layers of delight to an already exceptional experience. To the lady owner, I extend my heartfelt gratitude for creating such a haven of beauty, taste, and hospitality.
If you're seeking a dining experience that transports you to a world of elegance and grace, I wholeheartedly recommend paying a visit to this extraordinary establishment. Prepare to be enchanted, indulge in exquisite cuisine, and let the melodies of the pianist sweep you away. You won't be disappointed.
Once again, my sincere thanks to the lady owner for curating such a memorable and beautiful...

It was quiet in there when we visited. I kind of like how you have to go down a little alleyway and behind a building to find this place, it reminded me of finding secrets in a video game. I bet this place is really busy at night! The interior looks beautiful, white and crystal with soft lighting. Our waiter greeted us right away and was very kind to us the entire visit. I didn't get his name, but he was very tall and clean-shaven and when I asked about the black bread, as I really liked it, he was so nice and even showed me on his phone what it was called and gave me some extra pieces that were just baked in their kitchen.
We both tried meat pirozhky and the Pozharsky cutlet. The pirozhky were so delicate and light, not dense or heavy! I want to try the other flavors next time. The Pozharsky cutlet was very tender, came with a tangy, tasty cherry sauce, and was super great on its own, too! I got a side of tarragon spinach with mine and the flavor was outstanding. Our waiter recommended we try the pelmeni on another visit, and I definitely will.
The only downside I could find was the prices and portions. You can see on google reviews and Yelp how the prices used to be and side dishes that would be included with the entree, pretty recently. Seems that the prices for appetizers, soups, and entrees have doubled within the last 1-2 years and you have to order your side dish ($10 each!) separately. So it is a very expensive...

Parking can be tricky with all thatâs happening in the Langley lot and surroundings and itâs not so easy to find the entrance - the new management has done some work to make it easier to find but it could be easier if there was some more signs for first time visitors. Once you are in - the ambiance is a but âcavern-likeâ but the service and food will more than make up for it. We went back recently as we were told by friends that there is a new management and food and service has become better if anything. It is all true - the same great food and really warm serviceâŠ
The caviar starter and the chicken liver pate - which was served with honey and salt - were great and the drinks are tasty - and strong! (My wife asks for them to make it half strength every time!) Mains were excellent - though the stroganoff was not quite as good as Iâve had before. I donât know how many times I would recommend a side dish specifically but the risotto side dish is a MUST try. They are also super generous with the bread which was all excellent. Desserts are all generous portions and very good We will be back again and this seems to be one of those management changes that donât alter the soul...
