This restaurant is T E R R I B L E! The food was terrible from beginning to end. I wish I could've gotten a picture of the Lobster Bisque...DISGUSTING! It looked like gravy with lobster bits. I have literally never seen giggly lobster bisque. Then the Crab Cake that was raved about on google reviews was disgusting looking, tasting and bland. Like they made it with bisquick and crab meat. I tagged Chef Gordon Ramsey in my Instagram story yesterday because this experience literally reminded me of his show “Kitchen Nightmares”.
This restaurant also ruined Mother's Day for my mother as well. It’s our first Mother’s Day without her mom and we wanted it to be special... we expressed our concerns about the entrees to our waitress who was AMAZING. And she stated that the manager that was there isn’t going to be willing to take it off our check or swap it for something since the kitchen was closed. So we asked to speak with the manager. This woman came out guns blazing. I’m not sure if she just doesn’t like black people or what... and yes, I’m taking it there because where this led to never had to happen to me and my family.
The "manager" Jannie didn't want to take these disgusting crab cakes (that I did not eat) off of my bill to offer something else. And threatened to call the police because I said I wasn’t paying for that nasty crab cake that I did not eat or like. All the food there looked sketchy, like I would get food poisoning. To be honest someone should call the police or health inspector to see what’s going on in that kitchen, because what they’re serving should be illegal. It was just an all around terrible experience. 100% would NOT...
Read moreThe atmosphere is stuck in another era. Not very clean. Service was poor. Waited twenty minutes to be acknowledged. And then the waiter said be right back and did not come right back. By the time he was back, we had waited so long and it was getting late. Ordered a small salad with vinegar and oil on the side. My friend ordered chowder. She reported as not really good. I was made to wait until after she consumed her soup until my salad was brought, we are there now for 45 minutes. We both opted out of drinks as everything was taking so long. Her clams came and my salad. The glams were sitting in a bowl with the cooking water and butter for dipping was on the side. It did not look appealing. These were 15.00 clams. Each about the size of a fingernail. The salad came with a side of orange oil. The server did not come back and I have the salad to the busboy as it was inedible with the clip of oil. My friend finished her clams and we waited a bit. Finally the server came and asked if we wanted separate checks. He was unaware that the salad was taken away ten minutes before uneaten. No manager came. There was a 3.5 percent charge for credit cards. Overall a dismal experience. The bread was good though, hot and fresh. Will never return. They charge prices that can be found in bright, upscale newer restaurants but neither the food, the atmosphere or the service is on par with cleaner, newer, establishments who value the...
Read moreWe arrived early (not realizing they don't open until 4 on Tuesdays. They were still cleaning the restaurant (and doing a thorough job), but we were still greeted warmly and welcomed to wait in the lounge.
The retro-vibe, soothing music was perfect in the background.
We were seated at our table at 4 on the dot. Being a chilly and rainy day, the hot toddies and coffee hit the spot.
The bread was warm and fresh and was accompanied by butter, flavor filled oil AND ratatouille.
The soups are homemade and tasted like it. It was piping hot. The clam chowder was very good and the snapper was some of the best we've had in years.
The salads were crisp, fresh, and to our liking, included cucumbers, radish, red onion and chick peas. The classic French and Bleu cheese dressings were absolutely delicious.
That early on a Tuesday you can pick from three different menus, the options and discounts are plentiful.
We highly recommend the pork steak, the baked cod, mashed potatoes (homemade and with a few lumps :-)), and Brussel sprouts.
The portions are quite generous. We brought half our dinners and all of our desserts home.
While there and peeping what the other patrons ordered, we definitely decided that next time we will try their famous crab cakes (no filler) and the pot roast.
Last, but definitely not least, a HUGE shout out to Tracy, she was kind, patient, prompt, friendly, and...
