Carminuccio's Pizza & Subs — Restaurant in Newtown

Last night was my first time visiting Carminuccios with my husband and our son. They close at 10, we got there at 9:40 hoping they'd still have a few slices and we'd be quick so they could close up. Well... from the moment we walked in, we were greeting like old friends and were told not to worry about what time it was. After we ate a few slices (which are absolutely huge and absolutely delicious!) we asked if they had one more. They did not... then, Eddie the owner gets up, says sure we do and at 10pm proceeds to make us a fresh pie from scratch!! We are still so blown away. We ended up staying there until about 10:30 just chatting with Eddie. He is amazing. The best kind of human. His staff is amazing. His pizza to die for. I absolutely cannot wait to return and highly suggest anyone reading this...

To start, the restaurant has a very clean and manicured appearance. I went inside and ordered a pie recommended by the server and a Caesar salad. The salad came out as lettuce and a packet of dressing. I was confused as to why it wasn't already tossed? The pizza came out promptly, but did not have the fresh basil as described on the menu. The waitress did offer to bring it out on the side, but we had already eaten the majority of our pie.

I went to pay with card and went to write in the tip, but there was no option for me to do so. I felt bad because I couldn't tip the staff. It should fall upon the owner to make sure that there is an option for this. That is not fair to your employees. This basically means that the staff has to hope the customer has cash to give; if they don't then the employee is...

So I wanted to try this place because I asked my fellow neighbors on the next door app which pizza in the surrounding towns is the best. A LOT of them recommended this place!! It's a pricey pizza, but it's DAMN DELICIOUS. We ordered a large with black olives and half pepperoni. I hate the crust on pizzas and promise I -never- eat it, but I have to say... this.. was.. the BEST. Perfectly cooked. Whoever made the pizza yesterday evening (7/16/25) should make it all the time. Give that person a raise holy moly.. The olives were perfect. What brand are they?? The pepperoni was perfect. Crust -10/10. chef kiss. I WILL SPEND the money for this...
