I would like to thank very greatly city of Nicholasville for the Lake Mingo Park. It is very well kept and has wide verity of activities for people of different ages. There are playgrounds for kids, nice walk ways, lake for people that like fishing, nice picnic areas. The only thing that missing is fenced dog play ground. I see very often dogs running loose on the walkways, disturbing people jumping on them and following them. Some people coming to walk with their little kids and kids might be terrified of the dogs. People that own the dogs do not watch and clean after them. They are just letting their four legged once to run free. It is very possible that they are even not vaccinating their animals since they do not want to take few minutes to walk with their pals. In this case they could be very dangerous for everyone around! If there would be fenced dog area it would be very good for people that are coming to do different activities and for animals as well. Dogs could play and run free without disturbing anybody. Dog activity area. I hope that other people and city of Nicholasville will support the idea about dog...
Read moreI LOVE the Public Parks of Jessamine County. Beautiful scenery, water fountain, geese, baby ducks, etc. The walking trails are way longer than I expected, which is AMAZING. The trails are clean of litter and the lawn is maintained very well. There is obviously some bird droppings because of all the birds, but that is to be expected. The ducks/geese love to be fed! It's a good place to sit on one of the many benches & read, perfect place to take the family fishing, and an even better place to walk to trails and enjoy the wide array of bird species. There is a basketball court, skate park, disc-golf throughout the trail, shelters & grills. Take your family next weekend! You won't be...
Read moreThe place was a muddy mess and we parked next to a goose that didn't move out of the parking place. I assumed it had bird flu or mad duck syndrome or something, my 5 year old assumed that it was laying in wait to flog him. It turns out the goose had a name and it walked with a limp. The limp was caused by fishing line and stinkers being tied tightly around one leg to the point that it cut off circulation, and having a fishing hook through its other foot. My lovely wife caught the thing and I removed the fishing line and the hook. I have spent several hours congratulating myself for...
