I recently visited Crunch in Skokie and unfortunately, my experience was a letdown. I ordered the fried Brussels sprouts and cubed pastrami dish, which sounded promising, but turned out to be a greasy mess.
The Brussels sprouts were drenched in oil, making them feel heavy and soggy. The pastrami, too, was overly oily and lacked any real flavor. The dish desperately needed a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and a side of dipping sauce to cut through the richness.

Read moreCrunch is the kosher version of a Dive Restaurant. Inside a building in a hole in the wall, you will find the best grease spoon kitchen food. I have had at least half the menu, I never get bored with any of the food. The prices are perfect for kosher food. You get a ton of bang for your buck.
Their meals are perfectly portioned so you never feel stuffed and never feel empty. Just satisfied.
Alas they are not open on Sundays.
The staff there is friendly and polite. Just like your favorite grease spoon they remember who you are and treat you like your family.
