I've been a member of this church since 1992-2012. I moved to Glenview and didn't have transportation to get there (buses do not run on weekends in the outer suburbs). So I started attending a different church....but when able to get a ride now and again definitely would go and attend. They've been like a big family to me, worship service is amazing, the pastor's are heaven sent and the congregation is so welcoming to everyone. And they have great services for the little ones as well (along with daycare services). There are bible study groups you can attend as well. You can join the choir (I loved being in the choir! I felt blessed singing to the Lord and praising Him. It felt like I was also connecting with the congregation by singing is praises and truth through the music. I'm back in the city and it's easier to get there by public transportation. They have two services: 9:30am and 11:30am.    Read moreWhile this church has a passionate community, I was deeply troubled by how certain teachings were used to condemn rather than uplift. Faith should inspire love and compassion, but I witnessed harsh judgement towards those who didn't conform to specific interpretations. I hope this congregation reflects on how to be a place of true refuge, not division. Faith shouldn't be a weapon. This church wounded more than it healed in my experience. A house of worship should unite people, not make them feel unworthy. I pray they reconsider how there message impacts vulnerable seekers. Churches should foster safe, questioning spaces unfortunately this wasn't my experience here. A church's integrity is measured by how it treats the marginalized, not just it's doctrinal zeal.    Read moreI’m writing this not because I’m a member at this church but as someone who works with a nonprofit organization in Chicago area that helps refugee and immigrants from Iraqi, Syria and Afghanistan. Evanston vineyard church have been always very supportive, open their doors, offering us support for our women’s events gathering that without their help we wouldn’t be able to bring our group together. I just want to thank you for being a real “community” church that cares about their neighbors not only talking about love but showing practical love for others.
