I recently visited this spot and tried the Nova Lox Bagel. While the bagel itself was fresh and well-toasted, the salmon was a letdown. Nova lox is typically known for being less salty than regular smoked salmon, but in this case, it was overly salty and overwhelmed the other flavors. The toppings, like cream cheese, capers, and onions, were well-balanced, but the saltiness of the salmon really detracted from the overall experience.
I also decided to try the apricot cookie, but that turned out to be a mistake. I was surprised to learn it cost nearly $5—far more than I expected for a single cookie. Unfortunately, the taste was disappointing; it was so unpalatable that I couldn’t even finish it. The texture was dense and off-putting, and the apricot flavor was barely there. It felt like a waste of money, and I left feeling dissatisfied.
The prices were reasonable for the bagel, but the quality didn’t fully match my expectations. As for the cookie, it was overpriced and not worth trying again. Overall, a mixed experience—there’s potential, but the...
Read moreDespite their bagels being amazing, what kind of bagel place doesn't toast bagels and smear globs of cream cheese for you!!??? After paying for my bagels and cream cheese I was pointed to the self toast and smear counter where I was forced to do it myself, I'm sorry but this is one task I expect to be included with my purchase, if I knew I was going to be doing this myself I would have bought a dozen and completed this task at home. On top of that you all have wonderful homemade cream cheeses for purchase, yet in the single bagel size serving, I'm stuck with 3 options of the regular store sold Philadelphia brand. For this I give you 1 star, I hope this single star motivates your establishment into purchasing a toaster and smearing globs of your wonderful homemade cream cheese on to your future customers bagels, then maybe I'll return....until then I'll be frequenting the Touhy Bagel location for true customer...
Read moreI drove up to my favorite bagel shop (I am from NY), only to find it is an unsafe place of business. I parked my car and looked up to see what I believe was a patron, but maybe an employee not wearing the mask standing inside next to the door with the sign saying its a requirement to wear a mask. She walks in and out twice with the mask hanging from her left ear. I took a second look, and the employee behind the counter had no mask on either. I called Skokie finest only to find out they don't enforce the governor directives (shame on them). Until a Statehouse overturns a Governor's directive, it is the law. Do your job or quit. Bottom line I will never step foot in this place of business again Closing not there was an older woman (owner?) back in March who thought all of this was just BS from Dems, another reason never to go back.
If you want better odds to catch the "COVID " enjoy and...
