Long John Silver's — Restaurant in Niles

This little Long John Silver's is really retro and that made it unique and fun. The staff that was on the second night we tried this location were very nice but, they didn't have a clue what the new signs by the register were for, they weren't the most tidy in appearance (in their defense the company does provide the uniforms and not knowing the policy of purchase versus lending uniforms I didn't hold it agaisnt the staff), they weren't the most sanitary when handling food or filling the ice dispenser, the bathrooms were just really bad and the food just wasn't good. We've been twice so my review is based on two totally different experiences. The first was about 2 months prior to this visit and was drive thru so I can't really say much except one again the food just wasn't good. I really hope they get it together, we'd go back if they leave the retro aspect and just clean up, declutter, staff more employees and please, I'm pleading, gut those bathrooms...

As a seafood lover, I was so incredibly disappointed with this one. I had never eaten here prior despite having lived here most of my life, but heard from a few other seafood lovers that although the price is above average, it's pretty good. I ordered a basket of fish and some type of fried lobster or crab bites they were advertising for at the time. The food itself all had one similar fish taste, but the main thing i tasted was fried batter and barely anything else. The bites were dry, and the fish had little to no fish meat! I was actually shocked when they handed me PACKETS of Tartar sauce, not even a LJS brand either. You're a seafood restaurant that touts yourself as more than the typical fast food place, and you don't even bother to make your own Tartar sauce?? Even I make my own tartar sauce at home, it's easy. I want to add that by no means do I have a "refined" pallet or expect the best of the best, but this location's food was...

I had not been to Long John Silver's in quite a while. I decided to go and get their three chicken basket. I was the only one in the Drive-In. You could not hardly hear what they were saying through the speaker. I asked how much I thought she said $12.99. I said why so much. So the manager got on and said I can't have you yelling at my employees which I was not. I was told you have to wait behind the building parking lot because they didn't have the chicken yet. I ordered two extra hush puppies and I only got two. Had to go back to the window and ask where's the other two I bought. They said hold on we'll get them . The chicken tenders were so tough you could hardly bite through them and they were so slimy they kept falling out of the breading. Believe me I will not go back there again.
